Go to another class - or is that not an option.
Ask consultant to weigh you instead
Save your money and just stay with us.

Thanks JJ, not really an option though because the nearest other class is 18 miles away  However, in October, another class will be opening 6 miles away so that is why I'm thinking a few weeks off and then whoooosh, specially as I understand the new class will be run by a young man. Maybe they just said that to make my eyes gleam?

If you can't then it depends how much you can trust yourself to go it alone. Personally, unless I'm really pushed for time I always stay to group (I'm not paying £5 just to use their scales) so I wouldn't do 1. 2&3 are options and unless you're really friendly with consultant then go for the text. I would rather tell her face to face myself and tell her why (in the politest possible way). Do these WI people get paid or are they just volunteers? Your consultant needs to know if she's got people helping who are putting her 'customers' off. 4 is what you need to do if you really feel you need a class to keep you on the straight and narrow. There is a 5th option which is just paying weekly so if you get really p'd (even more than you are now:rotfl:) off you haven't wasted money.

Normally (in all the groups i have been to) the people who take the money, do the shop or the WI are volunteers & don't get paid

I am the WI lady at my class & i don't get paid - but when there is a new mag out we get given one as a thank you & sometimes get some hifi bars aswell - depends how generous the consultant is feeling

I would personally talk to the consultant & explain your problem & i am sure she will be able to weigh you in herself - or you could either turn up really early or late & chances are the WI lady isn't there!

I do hope i am not like your WI lady - i always try to be nice - always put the silver lining on however they have done - e.g. we have a girl doing the free2go bit & has hardly lost anything (she doesn't need to IMO) and i keep telling her she is growing & doesn't need to worry about losing weight - i hope i don't offend her!

To everyone who goes to a class - do you get on with your consultant? What are they like?

BR, I'm guessing that this is your only local class. I'm lucky in that I have loads to choose from so if I was in your position I'd try a different group.

thanks both! The WI ladies, welcomers and HIFI sellers are all volunteers. This is a new WI lady, I love the one we usually have but I have a nasty feeling this one will be doing it for a while, I can't say more here because it is public after all and it doesn't take much searching of posts to find out more or less where I live, and there are libel laws! The others like her (I think); it's just me that's taken a dislike. Maybe I'll give it one more go. I am doing this for me, not for any one else.

PS I love our consultant; sadly she is leaving in a couple of months. I find her inspirational because she is still on her "journey".

I get on fine with my consultant but if I'm honest she's not very good. I know they're probably all trained to a formula to deliver the programme but she has no initiative or ideas of her own. It's all a bit same old, same old (is there a yawn smilie?). She is a nice person but she needs to be more assertive with people who chat while she's speaking or let their toddlers run amok. However she is vastly better than a relief we had who was bossy to the point of rudeness. And she doesn't make us play any daft games. The best thing about my group is chatting to the other members and sharing support and ideas oh and WI when you've lost:D.

I still haven't decided what to do, I have 20 mins to decide! Yes, our consultant doesn't make us be in teams or play games, we once had one that did :(, and we once had a stand-in who rang a bell for silence if anyone was whispering while she was talking. That was like being at school, she used to read texts to us as well :( So I do appreciate ours. I wish she'd be firmer with the few people who try to dominate everything with their opinions, their life history, their menu history though; but as she isn't I sometimes make a smiling comment about them having "had their turn", I know, I know, I am vile. And I do make shushing signals if people are talking loudly because some attendees are really quietly spoken and/or shy and I don't think it helps them to have to battle. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?

BB I'm all for going it alone as I have managed it but to be honest you have to be slightly obsessive about it which I am. Not everyone can be though so if you need class support stick with it. I personally wouldn't get the countdown if you're thinking of changing clubs, why waste money? Just pay weekly and ignore the wi person. Good luck whichever way you decide x x.

My day has been very productive I have arms like Arnie after cleaning loads of weights for sons weight bench. Also been making scones for hubby, slightly better for him than the processed ones I hope. My food has been good too.
    B - weetabix (b) hot water/ milk (.5a) coffee
    L - fruit salad, onken
T - hm chow mein (4.5 sauce) mushroom stirfry with ex onion & celery, noodles
    Snack - c/ twist (2), mugshot, s/cow (4.5)
    Syns - 11

Anyone know how many syns per 28g scones are please? Thanks in advance x x
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
