I am just starting out on SW, have borrowed some books, and ordered some online, but will not be attending classes.
I am doing it with my wife as we both want and need to lose some weight.
Today I was a bit naughty, can any one tell me how many points are in full fat mayo? Canteen at work had run out of healthy options and i needed some food so tuna mayo baked potatoe it was. Would imagine there was 2 tablespoons of mayo? Tuna is free right?
Additionally my wife cooked chicked yesterday, I understand that you can not eat the skin but is it ok cooked with the skin on and then the skin removed?
many thanks.
I am looking to lose 20lbs by end of the year, about 20 weeks away.
Hi, Welcome and you are making a good choice following SW, I can't recommend it highly enough!! There are 5 syns in a level tablespoon of normal mayo, 2.5 in light mayo and 0.5 in extra light.
Yes Chicken is fine to be cooked with skin on, and just remove it before you eat and its zero syns0 -
Thanks for the reply, I must say SW seems all most too easy, reading through it is hard to see why I weigh 14st 5 at 5ft 10inch, I love all the free food and we cook most of our own food. Currently inundated with raspberries and plums form the allotment.
I suppose the reasons for the weight are, in order
booze - I like Cider and it seems a real no no on SW. Also partial to wine - I quite often have a few drinks on a week night.
cheese - love it, we cut of chunks and suck till nothing there.
crisps and choclotae bars - usually have one of each each day at work, as well as a pastry in the morning.
overeating - finishing my own plate then polishing off the kids dinner
oh god, now i write it down it does not seem quite so mysterious!
agree with other posters though, no point doing a diet and then going back to your old ways, has to be a change in life style, lets see how I get on!Slimming World Adventure!

Hi I have also just joined a class - am a bit of a yo-yo Slimming Worlder! So I am just getting my head around the Extra Easy bits...it's a great motivator seeing some real losers here! Thats meant in the nicest way
Braders, Well done you for doing the plan - I know it is a pain when work canteens don't have much....but in answer to your tuna question, yes it is free if in water or brine (on EE or Red), but not if it is in oil, that is 1 Syn per 28g.
I find a fail safe with jacket spuds is baked beans - if you like them then you're sorted!
Good luck (to me too!)0 -
had beans in jack pot for previous two days, I love them but tehy dont always love me if you know what i mean.
I was too late to the canteen today so was out of luck.
Just need to make sure i am better prepared as well.Slimming World Adventure!

I'm off to cadbury world on friday, seems they give away free chocolates, looks like I won't be on that target sofa for long :-(0

SusieBear - dont be so hard on yourself no target member stays exactly the same each week that is why target members can go up to 3 pounds over or 3 pounds under their target weight and still be a target member.
If I go to class and have put a pound on but am still within the 3 pound range my consultant congratulates me and despite my weight fluctuating I have always stayed within the 3 pound barrier0 -

Welcome to all the newbies :hello:, nice to see another bloke in the room [whatever happened to woot?]. Personal question Braders, what size frame do you have as 14st doesn't sound too overweight to me as son is 15st but then hes 6' 2ish and broad so biggish frame also plays rugby [2nd row]. Not saying you don't need to lose weight just trying to get a picture and wondering if son needs to lose weight too.
Well done all you losers, some nice shinys there.
I am feeling very sore today, yesterday I washed 40+ weights which ranged from 1.1kg to 10lb for sons weight bench [they'd been left outside] so my shoulders ache and so do my legs [from bending to pick them up]. My legs also hurt from being knocked over by the dog this morning, I moved to one side so path was clear and stupid mutt ran full pelt the wrong side and took out my legshe did come back to see if I was ok though
. Have got stiffer as the days gone on so if he thinks hes going for another walk with me later hes got another think coming
.
Food today:
B - weetabix hot water/milk [.5a] coffee
L - fruit salad, onken, cheese twist [2]
T - hm meatballs/tomato sauce with either pasta or rice depending what others want. Will add onion and veg to sauce to up superfrees. Might add cheese for rest of HEa.
Snacks - s/cow [4.5]
Syns - 6.5 [so far]
I know I didn't eat much for lunch but wasn't hungryIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
