A Slimmer Summer with Slimming World

Hello and welcome Northern Star, I was about 3 st overweight when I started, I know I am wallowing in gloom at the mo but honestly it does work, technically I am at target and it hasn't been a bad time.
I'd suggest for store cupboard or freezer lots of tins of tomatoes (superfree), beans of any time for when you need the dynorod action, tinned fish as that is free on EE, any special offer frozen fruit as that is handy to supplement other fruit for more superfrees; personally I always keep frozen chopped spinach in the freezer as a few "balls" of that can go into stews, curries, soups, sauces and even spinach-haters cannot tell and it is superfree. Or even buy any cheap/last minute vegetables, fish and meat and freeze them yourself for later use.
Good luck!:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

I will see if I can be better at being bad tomorrow.:rotfl:

Welcome NorthernStar. Like BR says, if you're going to do EE then you're going to need loads of fruit and veg as they make up a third of all your eating. So anything on offer in Asda in the F&V and then work your meals around that.
Apples, pears, bananas are about the cheapest at the moment. SP onions are cheap for a huge bag. They do a 50p bag of stir-fry veg (although not seen them for 2 weeks) and large punnet of SP mushrooms and tomatoes are cheap enough although personally I'd only cook them, they're a bit tasteless raw. Frozen veg is often cheaper than fresh. I find frozen green beans a useful stand-by. SP porage oats are great if you like porage. There's a 30p voucher in the current Asda magazine for WW bread, you can have 3 slices a day of Brown Danish.
If you do get the chance to go to Aldi then their Super 6 F&V is good.
I do my big shop in Asda too so if you check out my daily menus they may suit you too, depends what you like to eat. Good Luck.0 -
Good morning folks
Back of me jollies again - 1st weigh in for me and only gained 1lb:j
Been to France in the campervan for just over a week - had a great time and ate French Bread and cheese for EnglandDrank loads of Caffe crème and walked miles.
DH gained 5lbs! I probably would have as well but came down with a dose of the squits which kept me trotting for over a week - there is something good to come out of adversity :rotfl:
Dizzy - glad you are on the road to recovery - never mind the shower - just get the wetwipes out and have a 'prozzy wash'. I use them all the time when we are travelling - great way to feel refreshed and clean
Well done to everyone on their losses and hugs to all who are struggling. I have not read all the pages so dont have a clue what has been going on but I hope you are all ok healthwise.
Have a great Sunday everyone :cool:Mags - who loves shopping0 -
All this talk of prozzy washes and shower dances have made me laugh this morning:rotfl:
Well, the fitters came yesterday - very disappointing, not one good one (to look at) between them -think tubby short bloke, cheeky chappy with bum hanging out and one that you just "wouldn't"! Bum bloke is coming back today to finish off and then I'll finally have a tidy house:j
I will have my kitchen back by mid afternoon so don't have an excuse today foodwise...
Breakfast - banana
Lunch - not sure, will see when I can get into the kitchen (will probably involve bread or sandwich so B choices here)
Tea - meatfree garlic kiev (4 syns I think) with salad, beetroot, pickled cabbage, cheese (A choice) and boiled egg and new potatoes
Body magic will be walking the dog and cleaning the house once its finished.
Have a good day!0 -
Quick post of my day's EE menu:
B: NAS squash, 2 boiled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas
L: sandwich (ham & cucumber?), fruitlamb cooked over parsnips, carrots & leeks with cauliflower, SW roasties and maybe cabbage
Snacks & syns: weekend wine and maybe extra SFs
I'm off out for a walk in a moment, determined to get some Body Magic in, been very lazy recently.
Have a good day all.0 -
Hi all
I'm back......again.
I've had a very long break and have gained 7lb.
I can't go to a group until September so am goin to try and go it alone with the help of the world wide web! lol
I'm having to cut my food budget right down to a very max £35 a week for me and 2 children, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do it! :eek:0 -
WI this morning and have lost the 2lb I gained last week so happy with that. Was amazed really as its * week.
Today is my 'rest' day so having toad in the hole with 'proper' sausages and wild plum crumble with custard for tea as can't manage a full meal AND pudding at the same time unless its ice cream :rotfl:. Now just need to get rid of this headache and I'd be a happy bunny instead of the grumpy pmt bi*ch I usual am.
Happy sunday all x x xIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Right, how to misbehave, that's the question? So far I've had loads of coffee (hea), a big bowl of strawberries and mango and cherry muller light (still free, I checked). Oh and a bag of Sunbites but that's only 6 syns so far. I never used to have trouble being a rebel
Enjoy your Sunday everyone, it can't decide if it's going to be blistering hot or thunderstorms here.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

oh here's something our consultant told us the other week, I've not tried it. Mix some frozen fruit into a muller light yog, DO NOT FREEZE. Eat it after a couple of minutes, it's like ice cream (she says, as I say I've not tried it - may do so now just to see).
Update: yes it works! I stirred half a pot of cherry muller light into 6 or 7 frozen cherries (I didn't want to waste it if it didn't work!), popped it back into the fridge for 5 mins and hey presto, the muller is half frozen and the cherries are half-defrosted. Would be a speedy and impressive dessert I would think.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Me again! :hello:
I'm taking my boys to a family picnic day tommorrow and it will be my first day back on plan.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I can take for myself and that will be really filling? My little group of friends and I usually take the children to the park afterwards so don't want to find myself caught short! :rotfl:
Last time I had, gammon and new potato salad with coleslaw mixed in and peri peri sauce?! about 10 chocci hobnobs, crisps, pringles, etc! :eek:0
