I haven't checked out the Dolmio but all the rest of your assumptions about the free food are absolutley right! Enjoy!

Today's menu is fairly typical of the whole week.
B - Activia yoghurt but not the syn free one as I didn't know there was a difference and I have to eat them up now I've bought them.
L - Tuna and cucumber sandwich, no dressing, on light brown bread, pack of blueberries
D - Huge salad with prawns and smoked salad, whole small melon
S - these will be 1 x Scotch and diet coke (well, maybe two, it's been a hard day) and Horlicks Light at bedtime.

Sometimes I have the salad for lunch (depends on shifts) and have a 2 egg omelette for dinner with a grating of cheese in it or pasta with a tin of tomatoes and a grating of cheese on top. Dessert is always either yoghurt of fruit.

So how on earth did I only manage to lose one measly pound this week? I didn't stay for class as it was even noisier than last week, just got weighed and made my escape!

Sophie, I can't really explain why you didn't lose more in your first week but, try not to get disheartened, you will lose if you stick to the plan. It seems you're not getting much help from the group either. My own group has got noisy lately but that's mainly because one woman brings her small child who behaves badly and she does nothing to stop her.

I've highlighted what I can see 'wrong' with your menu today. I'm not sure what you mean by 'light brown bread'. Ordinary brown bread would need to be synned, or you need to use wholemeal or another from the list of HEBs. I don't see any HEAs (milk/cheese?) You know about the syns in your yogurt, I looked up Horlicks Light and it's 5.5syns per sachet, and then the Scotch. If you had two drinks this could come to 15.5syns in total plus any problems with the bread.

I hope this helps a little. Do post regularly and you'll soon get the hang of the plan. And ask as many questions as you like!:)

    Hi! :hello:

Hoping someone can help me with the syns values for WW oat and wheat crackers.

    Here are the details:
    per 3 crackers - 55cals
    1.3g protein
    11.7g carbs
    0.2g fat
    0.01g sat fat
    0.4g fibre

wasn't sure which values you need to work it out so I decided to post them all!

I've just bought a pack of them from Poundland and I'm hoping they'll be low in Syns so I can have them in the afternoon as a snack.

    Thank you!

    They're 1 syn each

does anyone know how many syns in this low fat, non dairy mock choc icecream?

slice 4 ripe nanas and freeze overnight.
Take out of freezer and thaw for 20 mins.
    Whiz in processor/blender till smooth.
add desert spoonful of cocoa powder and whiz again.

eat as soft ice cream or re-freeze.

    Tis yum ;)

    Serves 2-3

Well pureed banana is 1.5 syns per 28g & a level tbs of cocoa powder is 1 syn so can you work it out from that?

Can anyone help with the following please?
I joined SW last week (put weight on after giving up smoking in March) and came home full of it.
I have been exceptionally good all week and had my weigh in today. Lost a pound. Now I'm obviously doing something wrong but what?
Due to the chaotic nature of the class (was a shambles really and not what I expected at all - also I'm not a 'group' kind of person so it was doubly hard) I could hardly hear what was being said. Thus I came away thinking that ALL Activia and ALL Muller products were free foods.
It wasn't until last night when I managed to input these on the website (which isn't the most user friendly site I've ever encountered) that I found out they were about 2 syns each. Not really a worry as the only syns over the week were 2 x Smirnoff, 1 x Scotch, 2 small handfuls of cashew nuts, and about ten small wine gums. I've been following the extra easy slavishly and had mountains of salad with a variety of fish (oh and I also learned that smoked mackerel and mackerel are not the same in SW world) or chicken. Masses of fresh fruit, particularly berries and melon. Not a crisp or chocolate or cake or biscuit has passed my lips in the entire week which is really good going for me. Due to my odd work shifts I managed to miss 4 meals throughout the week but these were mainly breakfasts which I've never been a fan of. Prior to SW I could happily go all day and eat one meal about 7pm then be done till the next day. I usually cycle between 10 and 20 miles a day but work stuff got in the way this week so not much exercise apart from a lot of gardening and a bit of walking.

I should add that I am not mountainous and have a maximum of two stones to lose.

So how on earth did I only manage to lose one measly pound this week? I didn't stay for class as it was even noisier than last week, just got weighed and made my escape!

I joined in July last year and I have MULTIPLE stone to lose - yet in my first week I only lost half a pound! And yet 1 year later I am on the verge of getting my 4 stone award! So stick with it!

It can take a while to get your head round all the info - so keep going.

I would strongly advise that you try and have some breakfast everyday - even if it's just yoghurt and fruit - it's all to do with maintaining your metabolism...

Good luck - sorry your meeting is chaotic - but keep posting here and we will help in any way we can!

I thought an average banana pureed is about 4 syns, so if you have 4 it is 16 syns, plus the dessert spoon cocoa is approx 1 syn (tablespoon is bigger???) so about 17 syns, split between 2 is 8.5 syns each or split between 3 is appro 6 syns each

    Morning All,

Disappointed - WI last night only lost 1/2lb - i had been really good this week & its not fair!

I brought the Zumba DVDs with the money from the tax man - stayed up late last night going through them - seem really good

I am also going to join the gym - again! As it works out better value as they do Zumba classes there aswell!

Only thing left to do is to sell

    cross trainer
    exercise bike
    ab circle pro
Weights (might keep these for Zumba DVDs)
Another ab thing (6 second abs)

Anyone recommend the best place to sell these? I won't post anything apart from the 6 second ab thing! So buyer to collect!

Can anyone give me a kick up the bum or something - really want to get thing moving again! What can i try this week to ensure a loss? (i don't do salad!)

Why am i struggling so much now?

I had lost more than this this time last year (1st 9.5lbs more to be precise!) Why i this happening to me?

Sorry to hear about your 'ear' problems Dizzy - hope it goes ok on thurs x

I've just checked the activia yogurts online and the full fat ones are mostly 3.5 syns each.

As someone else mentioned, your bread must be wholemeal, not brown and should be 1 slice from an 800g loaf or 2 from a 400g loaf.

You should be havin one third of every meal as superfree. you didn't have any at breakfast.

35ml of whisky is 4 syns. Do you measure it out? 35ml isn't much and if you have a couple of unmeasured ones you could soon have 15 syns that way!!! Also, your horlicks will have syns in.

Why not post your menus each day then we can help you out as you go along.

Just on other thing. Make sure you're eating enough, weight loss slows down if your body thinks its being starved!! Just salad with fish wouldn't be enough for me at tea time, I'd need some potato or pasta with it too!!

I ate rather a lot of choccy yesterday. Not like me!!! Today I will be better!!

    Food is green:

    Brekkie - porridge (HEA&B), banana
Lunch - leftover roast veggies, jacket potato, yogurt, pineapple
Tea - ?? at MIL's so could be aything. HEB2 will be whatever meat she does.
