Morning peeps! Well, i posted todays foods yesterday so i wont do it again lol.

I have been 100% on plan since WI on wednesday, back to Monday classes now the bank holidays have gone. I really wanted a positive result this week(given its only 5 days since last WI) so fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I have an exam tomorrow too, and stress always makes me reach for the chocolate. I have syned in an aero for tonight, hoping i can be positive and swap it for fruit, but we will see :) It has been in the fridge for 4 days and i have resisted tempation so far, which is unheard of for me!

Hope we all have a good day today x

Oh just to add... our consultant is rubbish too (imo) she is completely opposite to me, so we also clash personality wise too :(

I cant get to another group as the one i attend is the only day i can go due to hubbies work and the kids activities. Plus its the only evening i can get someone to sit with the younger children whilst i nip out for the hour for class. I could go to another group at the same day/time but its about 5 miles away - given the rush hour traffic (meeting is 6pm) it would mean being gone 2 hours, not 1. My Gran sees to the children whilst i go to group and i really dont think she could cope with 2 hours with them!

I do find that (for me) regardless of how rubbish the cons is i NEED to go to class. Its almost the fear factor lol. If i did it at home and STS i would be quite down about it, and prob eat loads of syns as well, but somehow going to class gives me a 'I will show you' attitude :)

Hi, I hope i'm not too late to join in. I have bitten the bullet and decided to join up with a group this week on Thursday, I will be 40 at the end of September and really want to lose some weight by then. My cousin who was the same size as me (16/18) is now a size 8 after doing SW for about a year. I am currently 77kg. i would like to get down to 65kg or less if I can in the time I have.

What I wanted to ask before I joined up on the 12 week plan was when I join up do I need to buy the books that tell you how many syns foods have or will I get that in my start up pack and does the welcome pack include recipes for green days, red days, and EE? How does the online access to the website work once you have joined?

The other thing was my cousin used to buy Asda sachets of sugar free jelly, but they dont do them anymore. I don't eat gelatine so can anyone suggest a no syn/ low syn alternative jelly please, thank you.

Thanks alot, will be back on Thursday with my official starting weigh in!
And yes the lady in the avatar is me

    Slimming World started 12/5/11 : Starting weight 12st 3lb
Hoping to get to 9 stone by September 2011

    *puff* *pant* *wheeze*

Fell off a while back there and my goodness is it quite a distance to fall from the penthouse! Had a presentation on Thursday and unusually for me completely freaked out about it, and comfort ate the day before and then celebration ate when it went half reasonably (apart from getting questions about my presentation *completely* wrong, and not getting away with it:rotfl:) with a pizza and drinking. 3 days later my stomach is still not right, so I'm moping about with a hot water bottle and feeling a bit bleurgh :( That'll teach me!

How has everyone been getting on?

Welcome!!! When you join your start pack gives you all the free foods for red, green and extra easy. Plus there is a substantial guide to syns etc. The online access is given by a pin number that is just for you. You can change the pin to a password and can log on whereever/whenever you like. Youc an plot your progress there, look at (and save) all the recipies you would like to try etc You can also check syns by brand or content.

I recently purchased a brand syns book from class for £7.50. It was worth it to me as when i am tooting round the supermarket i often think 'oh i like the look of that' and i can just turn to the appropriate brand sectiona dn find the syns out very quickly - it fits in my handbag too lol - you certianally dont need one as it can all be accessed online anytime

No idea about the jelly - but will have a look at the ones i have in (the kids love jelly and we always have dozens of sachets, pots in the house)

Hope Thursday goes well!! Just to add 12kg is doable in over 4 months. Its less than 3kg a month, (1/2 a stone-ish) which is working out at 1.5lb - 2lb a week! :j:j

Just catching up with the thread now, and I must mention a new find of mine which is proclaimed to be a food superhero.

    Quinoa.

Its officially a nut or seed, but is free on Green. Cook it up like rice, and serve either savoury like rice and cous cous, or as porridge, warmed through with milk and whatever topping takes your fancy. I've just blitzed some into my vegetable soup to make it a better balance of nutrients, and it acted as a nice little thickener too.

Now for the magic bit - its one of the only vegetarian foods to contain as near as perfect range of proteins (amino acids) as the human body needs, plus complex carbohydrates to set your energy levels up for the day, and a nice amount of different vitamins and minerals too. Its found in health food shops and the bigger supermarkets (usually in the wholefoods and healthy foods section).

So, fill your boots! Although you won't need to, as a small amount is really filling (and trust me, this is from ME, and if I say that it must be true because I can eat like a pig!) :D

Panic stricken!! I am off to a thai for lunch for a birthday meal with family!! Im going to stick to rice and anything not in batter and sauce and hope for the best. Then they do exotic fruit for dessert. I hope I manage ok as really dont want to go, but dont want the kids to get the wrong idea about my diet and family would be pretty peeved if I cancelled.
Dreading it cos I love my thai green curry!

I'd be tempted to say just go and enjoy it then jump straight back on the wagon later. I'm thinking about a great Chinese banquet I shared with friends over Easter. I hadn't had a spring roll in 6 months and I enjoyed every moment then it was syn free for the rest of the week!;)

    My menu today:
B: NAS squash, beans on HEB toast, HEA milk in teas
L: sandwich (probably salad) and a grapefruit
D: duck, dauphinoise potatoes, peas, carrots, onion, cauliflower
Snacks & syns: fruit and alcohol

I had my WI yesterday, and I put on 2lb :(

no major surprises there, however I was hoping for a STS seeing as I hadn't actually overeaten calorie wise, I just had been eating synful things.

I think i'm going to change my WI to Thursdays (not sure why that day though :rotfl: ) and I'm going to try my hardest this monday to thursday for 100% days!

Not been feeling top of the world either recently, my skin just seems really 'sore'. It looks fine, just feels really raw all of the time :( AND my eye's have been giving me jip, they are really itchy too and do look slightly sore. I think it might have been my mascara, but it's never done this before and i've had it since xmas... maybe i'm due some new make-up. I have been moisturising a lot to see if that helps, but it's early days at the moment.

I went shopping the other day too and just felt really 'blurgh' in everything I tried on, and no clothes really interested me at all. I'm really not sure what on earth is wrong with me! Just feeling sort of down in the dumps :(

I would say this would be due to stress, as it's the last few weeks of uni, but I don't feel like i've been stressed at all...

sorry for all the miserable-ness, but I just wanted to get it all down!

On a brighter note, I must admire your whole attitude to everything MrsM! I think you are a great role model! Exercising, incorporating nuts, seeds and avocado's into your diet using syns, just everything!

Hope the week goes well for everyone :)
