    Hello.
I joined slimming world twice in the last 5 years, but at different groups.
Both times I lost nearly 3 stone, but ended up putting lots of it back on.

    I now weigh 19 6lb
    heaviest was 21 4lb
    I am 5 ft 5

I am really struggling this time. My head isn't in the right place to stick to the diet.

I don't find the group leader helpful at all.
Would a different group leader help me more? They seem to be in it to take your money, have a bit of a talk, then off you go! I just don't seem to be getting support from this one

When I said I was struggling, she just says - "try harder and you will lose 2 lb next week"

Other people have stopped going, because they don't feel they are getting help.

I am on anti depressants as well and struggling in other areas.

Sorry for moaning. I want to lose weight, but I can't seem to get into it like I have before.

Many of us on this thread dont go to group so I wouldnt say its essential to go if you dont want to. the support on here is brill as we all support each other. Minimins is a brill source of info as well on syn values recipes etc.

I would like to be part of the website version of SW but I just cant afford it right now.

Why not call a few consultants round your area and see if you can go to one. I believe ( someone can confirm) that if you cant make your normal group you could go toanother instead at a different time?

I know my sis whos a consultant does a saturday slot and she often has peeps coming in if theyve not been able to make her earlier one in the week, or plenty from other groups. She was only talking about it the other day..so I think the rule is still current. Someone will be able to say.

Hands on consultants will help you ie my sister replies to texts & emails about syn values from members, they can call her etc. You may get more by phoning her?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I eat fruit and ff yoghurt for breakfast as I cant be chewed cooking when i come in from school run, but I would prefer ceereal but 28g is a joke really, had banana on toast today but used my heb and would of preffered a hifi bar later. But yeah I struggle with choice

I usually have fruit mixed with yoghurt and sometimes a HE (or half a HE if All Bran) of cereal. For a change I'll have a cooked breakfast but because I don't like eggs and tomatoes on the same plate (don't ask - ok ask, the yellow and red running together reminds me of pus :o ) I have to eat the tomatoes separately as fruit! I do what someone on here recommended and cook everything except the egg the night before then just warm it up in the microwave, saves a lot of faffing on a work morning!

Does anyone else find some of thier fellow members a tad irritating? Yesterday when I went to my meeting and got weighed etc, my friend and I sat down for the group meeting and were the first ones to do so, others were milling about or waiting to be weighed.
Been sitting about 5 mins when an older lady stood infront and said you cant sit there mind, these are Dot and Elsies seats. I said oh I see well il see if Dot and Elsie make an appearance then thanks for that. So 5 minutes later I could see the woman with another two woman who turned out to be Dot n Elsie marching over, and they asked for thier seats. When informing them there was no name stickers on the seats so I didnt know everyone had a specific seat, I asked if she could she me where ours were as it was only our second week was this something we had missed? She said sit where you like but me n Dot have sat there since we started and we intend to carry on.
Out of principle I refused to budge so they scowled at me throughout the meeting and in the car park said, you better be here early next week if you intend stealing our seats again. It tickled me all day thinking about it!!
That's hilarious! Even so I'd tell the consultant because it is also really mean and stupid (of Elsie and Dot!) Jeez. But yes, as in every group, there's always one or two that you can't take to.

I've been out all day and had another Car Parknic today, raw salady stuff (not lettuce!), half an avocado which is syns but so worth it, and a pack of crayfish tails. With a bottle of water, sitting in the sunshine ... fabulous! I just popped into a Lidl and picked up everything I fancied.

yes, i find this too. What i have been doing (rightly or wrongly i dont know!) Is having lots of veg/fruit as part of a meal - not for a meal (although i often have to have fruit as a meal as i am on the move).
    S

Like the other night we had syn free chicken curry. I put veg in the rice so peas, sweetcorn, cauli and brocoli florets etc. I also do fruity pasta for dinner if i am low on fruit. Basically its pasta, ff fromage frais diced apple, grapes, celery sometimes some segments of orange too and cheese on top for me HE! Its really yummy - sweet and creamy too...firm fave in our house ATM!

I do have a lot of chillis, spag bol and do the same with them loads of veg etc.

I also have a plate of fruit and veg for the day that i plate up in the morning and i use them in whatever that days cooking involves. It does make it easier for me to get loads of fruit n veg in a day.

Hi Briansdaughter, you probably know this but ... peas and sweetcorn don't count as vegetables, that is, they are not superfree. Your broccoli and cauliflower do, of course. Confusingly, peas are superSPEED but they can't count as your one-third-of-plate-superfree. Don't mind me mentioning it, I hope.

The consultant at my group isn't great, she doesn't really help members and class is just a brief discussion with each member about how they feel they have done BUT I have still found going to class helpful for me and now I am at target I still weigh at class every week but don't stay every week to the talk.

Had a busy day, did some ironing, went to see lady who is making my wedding cake for me, took dog for long walk, cleaned house and changed bedding. That should have burnt off some calories! Now having a well deserved sit down!!

Well done on making target S4mmy! :j another one to add to the sofa..

jonty1970 - we have two groups in our area... a few of our members have transferred to our group because the other lady isn't very good/nice. She makes you feel like a naughty child if you've put on weight.. i'm sure the other consultants in your area are aware of your problem consultant as they will have had a few transfers.. but if you don't feel comfortable going to group then stick around and use the support here and Minimins!

this really made me laugh sorry :rotfl:The Granny Maf1a They'll be tickled pink if they get there earlier than you next week cos they'll have won their seats back.. and you won't be bothered!! And you just know they'll have been complaining about it to everyone ALL week!

We have the issue of certain people constantly talking when the consultants talking and no one can hear. They also pull faces at everyone else that dares share something with the class because their not getting the attention and they haven't lost as much weight as the rest of the us, which i just find really rude.

Anyway been to stock up at Sainsburys today.. Mullerlight 6 pack are £2 at the minute so i've filled my fridge up with them! I don't eat that many yogurts, but the OH has at least 2 a day! costs me a flipping fortune..

So lots of fruit and veg in the cupboards and a resolve to try and do better this week.. i know i've no hope for Tuesday WI but if i can STS then it'll be a good start for the next week.

Have a good weekend everyone x

Also for those without sainsburys nearby:

Asda still doing muller lights singles for 25p each or 6 packs 1.50
Also doing WW 4 yogs for £1. ( summer, citrus, desserts) this is better than 2 for £2 for me as OH doesnt really like the WW deserts ones.

    Hello
I haven't been feeling great today and have been asleep for most of it, but did manage to weigh and have lost 1lb.
    Food today has been ok:
    cheese on toast (HEA, HEB)
    Lemony pasta
    yogurt and raspberries

I might have something else later. The cupboards are a bit empty as I should have gone shopping today but I've got some salady bits and lots of yogurts in the fridge so I think I'll survive!

    Happy weekend :0)

I would give another group a try first but if you still not getting the support and help you want then at least you have tried. I have only been on here a few days but already feel I am among friends. I used to do s.w. years ago with great results but our consultant left to have a baby, we had a stand in for a while who was a DRAGON. When she could no longer do it - admittedly she did come a few miles - our group closed. I did try another one later on but didnt like it and so am now doing it with all the friendly people on here.
Good luck with your weight loss which ever way you go about it.

Today has been a RED day -
    B- Apple
L - Grilled bacon, egg, tomatoes, mushrooms, beans and an oatcake (6 syns)
T - just a yogurt as still feel stuffed but will probably have a couple of ryvitas and cheese later on.
Have also eaten a huge bowl of fruit - apple, grapes, kiwi, orange and strawberries.

Tomorrow will be a GREEN day. Mum has dropped hints for liver and onions and I only have the smallest piece as not that fond of it.
    B - Cereal
L - Liver, onions, mash potatoes and cabbage.
T - Possibly beans on toast.
HE will be milk, cereal, bread,
Syns will be gravy (3-4), the liver (? 2 perhaps) and probably a biscuit (4) with my cuppa.
