Next week is gonna be hard as we have a strawberry tea party after school for all previous staff to bid farewell to our Headteacher so current staff will be serving scones, cream, jam etc as well as strawberries & pimms. Will be hard to resist but will do my best. Then on Thursday is ANOTHER do to bid farewell by current staff, this is the final goodbye so will be very emotional. This will include alcohol and buffet plus M&S desserts  I don't drink so no worries there but dessert!!!!!!Will do very well to get a sts next week
. Will have to be very good inbetween me thinks.
Hubby is making hm lasagne today with full fat everything  plus garlic bread slices so will have to be fruit and yog for tea and nothing else.
Have a lovely Sunday folksIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

I find it very strange that out of the numerous consultants i have had - none of them have mentioned this! Even when joining a brand new class - she has never mentioned synning healthy extras if you haven't had them all
So i am correct in saying that if i had 28g of porridge but forgot to eat the scan bran that you should have with it - i would have to syn the porridge? or if i have 3 extra light laughing cow instead of the 6 i should have - i should syn this aswell? What about if the above happens in one day - would i have to syn the above & have 'proper' healthy extras?
I have always gone on the stance that if i haven't eaten all my healthy extras - tough sort of thing for example, i sometimes only have 1 alpen light & don't have room for the other or i don't have all my milk & don't fancy drinking the rest!
I find this very strange indeed! Especially as it is not mentioned in the books!
Sorry for rant - i just don't understand!
I understand why you don't understand, because it can be very confusing at times.
The plans are 'whole' plans and are worked out not just to help you slim but to keep you healthy at the same time. So if you miss something out, it may not make a difference to your weight loss for the week, but your body would be missing out on some item of nutritional importance.
I am one of those people who allow that some people are experts in their field (doctors, dentists etc) and so I tend to think "why go ask for their advice and then question it". I know that makes me a sheep-type person, but it's just the way I am. It does make it easier to follow the plans but I do accept that there are people who need the i's dotting and the t's crossed.
I can't answer all the questions and to be honest, I'm not sure any Consultant could. As for warning you at the beginning that not eating ALL of your HEs must result in you synning the bit you DO have - well, it would probably not cross her mind that you wouldn't want to eat everything you're allowed. Mostly we spend time trying to talk people out of eating too much :rotfl:
I'm sure this hasn't helped at allMaybe it would be worth writing to SW head office and getting a 'proper' explanation!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Don't just tell me what to do, tell me why!!!!
ill maybe mention it in class but i feel like a pain in the bum already
im doing everything i can so will follow it a 100% until my loss kicks in. I again debate doing green when eating so little meat but will stick to EE for now.
think im not even going to have any vodka this weekend in the pursuit of a loss and to be the perfect studentDepresses me bvut i cant help feeling i should be depriving myself of syns and that i dont deserve ten as im still not losing weight. Crazy i know.
If you don't eat meat, what do you eat for protein? You can safely eat up to 10 syns a day knowing that you will lose weight but do try to vary the syns as much as possible - chocolate sometimes, alcohol sometimes etc. Vary your daily menus as much as you can too. Getting into a rut with food can slow weight loss down tremendously.
Don't deprive yourself - you won't stick to the plan if you do and then when you stop, you'll go straight back to doing all the things you love and thus put the weight back on. You're meant to be learning new, sustainable habits that will take you through the rest of your life.

Off to make dyno rod soup. The name makes me laugh - is it that "bad" (or should i say good?!?!) :rotfl:
I can vouch for it! It really does work. It is changing my life
As someone who takes codeine every day it is a real pleasure to have found an alternative to more meds. And now I know it is free it is even better.:j:j
I have started eating very late today and so far have only had a crispy rasher of bacon and a cup of tea.
If I have a boiled egg now do I still need to try to get three meals in? I will be having a banana and a cup of tea too.
Plan for main meal is soaked haricot beans cooked in the slow cooker with a ham shank and loads of vegetables. I will skim off any fat with my gravy separator and make sure not to eat any fat off the meat too. My HEB will have to be supper time, maybe a bowl of porridge.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Well done Mags
I made sticky chicken off the website this week. It was like sweet and sour from the takeaway without any extras, so next time I think we'll be chucking some veg or something in it. My friends non-slimming husband ate twice as much as us and asked was there any left, so I'll be making it again.
Don't forget that if you are eating bananas that aren't ripe they errrm, bung you up. Also, strawberries eaten in large quantities have the same effect as the dyno rod soup on me. I think this may be universal as I remember my mum's bitter complaints after we lost my baby sister in a "pick your own" strawberry field once. Apparently the nappy end was not pleasant to deal with for a day or so after :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I've also devised a strawberry cheesecake which is 3.5 syns a slice. Let me know if anyone wants the recipe and I'll put in on here.
Take care all of you0 -
Strawberry cheesecake
5 Mcvities light digestives crushed (17.5 syns)
28g flora lighter than light (2.5 syns)
Melt flora (carefully, it's weird stuff) and stir in the crushed digestives. Use mixture to line the bottom of a 7" tin. I use one with a removable base because it's so much easier to get the thing out when it's done. Place tin in the fridge while you fiddle about making the rest of the cheesecake.
Put one Asda size tub of Quark (250g in our Asda) in a bowl. Add 150g of muller lite or Onken fat free strawberry yoghurt. Mix well. In a small jug mix 3g of sugar free strawberry jelly crystals (counting this as 1 syn) with 50ml of boiling water. Mix until jelly crystals dissolve, then chuck in an ice cube to cool it down (saves waiting).
Try the quark/yogurt mixture. If it's sweet enough for you then fair enough. If it's not, add some splenda until it tastes good. My friend who comes to SW with me has a sweet tooth so I put in 2 heaped tablespoons. Add the jelly mixture, and mix well.
Spoon the quark mixture onto the biscuit base and replace the whole thing in the fridge for a bit to set. You could decorate it with some strawberries if you wanted to. We did intend to do this in the beginning, but we're so greedy it's never yet made the decorating stage :rotfl:
It doesn't set like jelly or mousse, but the original recipe has whipped cream in it. The jelly is to give it the texture that's missing from that. I suppose it could be left out if you don't fancy it. The whole thing comes to 21 syns. I don't know how long it keeps for as it's average lifespan is usually between 30 minutes and 2 days. It's all gone by then as most people seem to like it :rotfl:0 -

I normally eat a lot of lentils - I'm making Dahl today for lunches this week. I also throw chickpeas and lentils in to everything where I can. Especially curriesas they are veggie it would be quorn chicken, lentils, chickpeas and loads of veg or that minus the quorn. I'll throw some chickpeas into my dahl, would add chickpeas to couscous salad. I eat tofu sometimes although i'm still learning to cook with it. Im sure quorn is a good source of protein and i eat it a good few days in the week. Im not preaching to have the perfect diet and am always open to feedback
I also eat free range eggs regularly. I do eat meat sometimes - i buy bacon regularly but that's because I don't like quorn bacon, i wish i did. I can't afford to always buy free range chicken or good welfare meat so i choose to eat it rarely
I am just finding my feet with this plan and its style of cooking so will be varying it a lot more. My weight gain has been mainly for medical reasons to be honest and I've struggled with it since 2006 since those problems started.
I totally agree about the syns - it was my consultant who has thrown me off by saying every person is different so I felt it was quite an ambiguous answer, hence my confusion and not knowing what do to for the best.
I just want to see some sort of movement that it's working for me. I've found it really upsetting to put my heart and soul into it and gain in my first weigh in!!!:o
I actually don't feel deprived syns wise and have used some - just not the full ten as i was in my first week. I had measured myself some chocolate out last night but my dinner was so satisfying i didn't want it.
Well done Magnolia!!! That's fantastic:j:j:j

I love strawbs and muller light (vanilla with choc sprinkles) as a dessert, I have it daily, but OMG I added half a sachet of cadbury highlights over the top of the yog and its heavenly!! Really hits the spot, I use a whole punnet of strawbs, 2 mullers, its huge and healthy and only 1 syn for the highlights, just wanted to share this.
That strawb cheesecake sounds good, will have to try that.
And well done Mags & Take it easy for your good losses today.
I have been doing a few more EE days this week, as I hardly do them anymore and my weight has stuck, so thought the change might be helpful, we will see on Wednesday :-)0 -
