Wi for me and as expected a 1.5lb gain, let off lightly as thought it would be more. Hubbys birthday today so will start afresh tomorrow. Must resist the staff room goodies this week as would like to lose that gain next week.
As to that smoothie debate, yes puree fruit is syned but if you were only eating the 1 muller and handful of berries as you would normally have eaten seperately then I wouldn't count the syns. If you then ate more of the same as smoothies in the same sitting then yes count them. Does that make sense? Hope you know what I'm trying to say
Feel better today even with the gain, have a slight headache which has hung around since yesterday and won't shift. Had a lovely chat with my Mum which did cheer me up so hopefully today will be a better day. Off to MrS for fruit and steak [hubbys birthday treat, the steak that is not the fruit :rotfl:]. Am hoping to pick out a nice summery dress for our heads last leaving do on the 21st. Normally I don't do dresses but want to make an effort. Need shoes too as don't think my crocs would look the part somehow :rotfl:.
Wish me luck as normally come home empty handed when shopping for clothes.
good luck - I am going to our end of term / leaving do on Friday ( One assistant head + head of early years leaving, other assistant head/head of KS1 going on maternity leave!!! I'm surprised the boss is still sane....) and I have bought a dress from Per Una - and it now fits! It has been in the wrdropbe for 2 months and tried on at regular intervals - and it now fits!!!!!!!!!:j:j:j
It is a size 18 (M&S) but a year ago I was busting out of an Evans 22-24!!! (And nearly 4 stone heavier!)
I don't think anyone at school has seen me in a frock! One colleague knew me at playgroup - when I was still in maternity dresses - DD2 will be 18 in December!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -

There is so much going on at the moment, we have an open day friday where anyone can visit and there will be a memory book for people to sign [sounds lik shes died] then the following monday there will be a tea party for previous staff where current staff will be serving drinks etc [wont posh up for that] then on the 21st is final goodbye for current staff at someones house [posh up do].
Well I managed to find a dress I liked, its my fav colour and is a maxi so will either get it turned up or sleep on a rack for a couple of weeks to stretch my legs a couple of inches :rotfl:. Still need shoes as couldn't find any i liked.
Had fun looking at different size guides online since I got back. I tried on a 10 which fitted everywhere but bust a tiny bit tight so bought a 12. Looking online some places I would need a 16 for my bust size [I am so not that big] and others a 14 where mostly I'm a 10/12. I think I'm probably an 11 waist as 10 fits waist but not hips and 12 is a bit too big so need a belt for everything. I'd love to have something made to fit my odd shaped body :rotfl:.Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Hi all, had a rubbish start to my week but yesterday decided to kick myself up the ar se and start again.
I've eaten too many crisps this week - far more than is healthy. I've bought some WW salt & vinegar crisps so they will help if I get an attack of the munchies but I want to keep away from all syns so I should even out by Wednesday if I am lucky.
I started drinking more water and I stayed the same this week which was a bit disappointing so I need to get my backkside in gear again.
Have spent today listing stuff on eBay, loads more stuff to list so that will be something to do tomorrow.
Well, no rest for the wicked, have to go and sort the washing out, one load out, one load in, washing off the line, get clothes ready for school and get the kids homework done....0 -

Poohbear,I'd say you're still a bit light on the superfrees unless you're having a lot of veg with your sweet & sour. I wouldn't say an apple and a nectarine make up a third of your food. And if you've only had 2tbsp of milk plus a few teas you'll have quite a bit left from your HEA allowance.Sorry if this sounds a bit bossy but I know I have to work hard on the SFs with some menus. I've just eaten an apple with cottage cheese to make up for my SF free breakfast.
Well done for getting your dress sorted TIE, a maxi, very trendy!! I think there must be huge numbers of teachers/headteachers retiring this term. I think it's all the baby boomers making an exit. The party I was at on Friday was a retirement for a headteacher friend.0 -
Thanks Consultant and blackberry-rum. Yep, I used to post here regularly - finally made it to target but a lovely summer holiday has sent me off target a bit with too many creams teas and burgers! Good to know I don't need to get it all off in a week - will have a go but it's monstrously hard now to lose. Consultant - if I weigh in in 4 weeks and am still over target, do I need to pay one weeks fees or all 4 weeks fees? Thanks!
Sorry I've not answered before - 'puter been on the blink again
You are allowed one week at the 'out-of-target' figure, if you're still out the next time you weigh in then you have to pay. Those are the rules. No-one can say that you may have been over/under target for the month you've not been to group so you'll have to pay - that would be very wrong IMO.
If I were you, I'd not go again until you're sure you're within range then there'll be no argument.
Hope that helps (and makes sense)I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

i have done slimming world before and seemed to lose quicker.
i have followed extra easy.
this week i tried to up my speed foods but still only lost 1/2 lb. i know i am losing but is seems very slow.
before i started i lost nearly a stone on just limiting my calories to about 1500 a day so i am wondering if my body thinks i have too much food!
feeling a bit disheartened, any advice? thanks
I think that cutting your calories low (and 1500 is low if you're not sedentary) can make it more difficult to lose weight when you start a properly structured plan and, sadly, it always seems to be slower after the first time!
However, if you follow the plan as it's set out, eat lots of speed and superspeed foods, drink lots of water and move about a bit, lol, you should see a steady loss after the first few weeks of your body getting used to eating more foods.
This is a healthy eating plan for life.......it's not meant to be a race or a quick fix. We need to learn new eating habits and it takes a long time for habits to become ingrained. Going slowly gives you a better chance of keeping the weight off for ever and that would be the ultimate aim for all of us........ooh, just imagine being effortlessly slimI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
I think the official line is to have syns on a daily basis. Personally I work on 105 a week (15 each day) and knock them off as I go saving most of them for wine syns at weekends. It's worked for me in that, taking the scenic route of 1 to 1.5lbs a week, I've lost 3st since October.
Interestingly, I've noticed lately (in this month's mag for example) that SW are saying just 10 syns a day. I think it's probably just a case of hedging bets and creating a buffer zone. Having lost weight on 15 a day I'm unlikely to change but what do others think?
As you say, it gives a buffer zone so that if a newbie (or an experienced SW'er) isn't so hot on checking syn values, it won't make too much difference.
A new slimmer with many stones to lose can have as many as 20 syns a day and still lose weight, so a few over the odds occasionally won't hurt but it's best to aim for around 10 a day (or 70 a week) knowing that going over now and again isn't going to stop a loss.So we can't actually eat as much fruit as we like? I personally can go through 10 oranges a day...
You can eat as much fruit as you like as long as you eat it in it's natural state. Juiced or made into smoothies, the fruit is far less filling, after all, it's not food at that stage, it's a drink and, on the whole, drinks don't satisfy your appetite.
Do try to avoid over-indulging on bananas and grapes though as they have a lot of sugars and can slow weight loss if eaten wholesale.
Ooh, forgot to say hi to the newbies - it's lovely to see you all :wave:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

I don't think you are bossy. I really need help to do this properly.
Do you think I need more fruit and vegetables. I put three peppers and a pack of spring onions in the sweet and sour sauce and two tins of tomatoes.
We went to the pub for a couple of hours and I had two little pots of tea so have had more milk.
I will steam some vegetables from the freezer. I have just remembered I have had another nectarine too.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
