The temptation to just go green cause ive not had meat today is unreal but im going to resist :p

Flutterby - you may like this quorn sausage casserole - slightly modified.I'm making it tomorrow - going to use chicken to make it free apart from the apple juice. I also used chickpeas as thats what i had handy (and extra chilli powder and chillis!)It's in the quorn cookbook

I've made it before and it was astonishingly good! Not sure if using authentic smoked paprikas made a difference - bought them once for a chutney and hadn't used them again so glad they came in handy.

Off to make a very late dinner . Thanks for the welcome so far. Ive went back to the start of the thread to read and learn so heaven knows how long that will take :D

I know we've talked a bit about how SW food can be expensive but.... I bought my usual loaf of WW Brown Danish today and in a week it's gone up from 75p to 93p a loaf!! That's a 24% increase:eek: But never mind, we're all in this together. I expect Mrs Cameron feels just as angry when she's ripped off.;)

 I bought the 4 handy pack of baked beans today, the ones in the microwave tubs, they were about 1.78 last week, they were 2.09 today, wasn't impressed!!

    Morning All,

    Had a weird day yesterday

Started the day with a headache and had my yog & strawbs for brekkie & then was in a meeting until 1ish
Tried to scoff in a couple mouthfuls of lunch (pasta)
Then had a walk around site, then straight into a meeting
Managed to grab an alpen light, headache got worse in meeting, started to feel hungry aswell so had a hobnob biscuit
By time that meeting had ended (4pm) i went straight into another meeting until 5pm
Then went to my desk & came over all dizzy, cold, shaky, cold sweats and felt like i wanted to be sick
Anyone know what that was about? Low blood sugars?

Anyway i had another alpen light on way home & when i got home at about 6pm i went straight to bed and slept until 7 this morning!

I did wake up about 9.30 when DH went to bed so got up to have some water & tablets & felt weird still so had a small piece choc

    So yesterdays food was
    FF vanilla onken & strawbs
    2 Alpen lights (heb)
Mouthful of pasta with toms, beans, mush & onion
    Hobnob (4)
    Choc (1)
    Milk in Coffee (hea)

    Today is a green day
    B - Onion & cheese (hea) omelette
L - Pasta with toms, onions, beans, mushrooms
    D - ? New pots & something else!
S - Milk in Coffee (hea), French Fries (4), 5 Scan bran (heb) with quark concoction (couple syns) 2 Alpen lights (heb)

Zumba again tomorrow, hopefully Really enjoy it!

Good luck Everyone, hope you are good over the weekend - spray those fairies & kick their butts!

Hi Nessie, I suffer with low sugar levels at times, I have this cool little gadget off the docs to test my blood when I feel like you described. It sounds to me like it was your sugar levels, I feel how you said and also very tired like I have to sit down straight away, and you can litterally see my hands shaking. I carry them little lucozade sweets with me for when it happens. Since I started SW though, I haven't wanted to eat them because of the syns, i find a piece of fruit helps, a nice sugary one like banana or bunch of grapes.
  • Hi everyone,

I'm new to this and only joined SW 3 weeks ago but have lost 7.5 lbs already. I lost 5.5 the 1st week but hav only lost 1 lb each wk since. I wanted a bit of advice on my weight loss though.
For breakfast I am normaly eating a mullerlight yoghurt with fruit, then lunch I am having a mug shot ( which is free) and a big pot of fruit and another yoghurt. Throughout the day I am having 2-3 light babybells as my HEA and 2 alpen light cereal bars as my HEB. I am eating syn free recipes from the magazine and cook books I hav bought and trying to limit myself to 10 syns a day.
What is everyones opinion on what I'm eating?
I'm struggling to get ideas for lunches that are syn free for work wher I hav no cooking facilities other than a kettle. Also I'm finding I'm guessing the syn values if things and think I'm eating more syns than I think I am.

Hope to get a reply :-)

    Hi Jennie :)

I'm not expert but I would say you aren't eating much!! I'd be starving if I only had yog and fruit for breakfast.

Also although Mugshots/Mullerlights are syn free they are not free food. They are perfectly acceptable to eat like you are, but SW do say that you should eat free food first (e.g. on green day pasta/rice/couscous/potatos/egg/salad/fruit etc) before turning to syn free food like mugshots. Hope this makes sense!

Could you make a filling salad for lunch instead of the mugshots? I only do green days cos I'm veggie, but for lunch I have a giant salad and add the free stuff like egg/pasta/pots to make it filling. I make mine the night before.

    HTH and good luck!

2 syns on EE and red. 5 on green :)
Asda, Turkey Sausages, 8 pack, chilled, 57g each

Jennie -i would be fainting by 1030!:D

How about couscous salads, spanish omellete, pasta salad, savoury rice, leftovers from dinner, sandwich using HEB? I assume you have no microwave? I really like chickpea salads. I can give recipes etc if you want some - although i usually use olive oil in my chickpea salad!:p

I was going to suggest the same thing as flutterby, I only have a kettle in work too, no microwave etc, and most days I have salad. If im on a green day I have egg & cheese salad, and on red or EE I take in chicken breast with salad. I also have chicken sandwiches on red days using 3 slices of the small wholemeal bread with a bit of extra light mayo, i find that and a tub of fruit fills me for a few hours. I have the same as you for breakfasts, or on green days I have beans on toast. You can also have the wholemeal pitta breads as a HEB, fill it with chicken, egg or ham or all 3 and a load of salad for a syn free lunch. If you have a thermos flask you could make soup and heat it up before you go into work. I keep meaning to do this, but I always get up late for work and don't get the time :rotfl:
