    Hello
Back on the wagon today, and have eaten my own body weight in fruit, and also got through 2 litres of fizzy water at work. I've also...gulp...ordered the 30 day shred as it's about that long till my birthday and plan to get started tomorrow (as long as it arrives). I'll admit to being a bit scared!!
    My green day has been:
    oats, berries and yog (b)
    milk in tea (a)
a small punnet of grapes, small punned of cherries, 2 nectarines and a banana
    4 dark rye ryvita and 3 laughing cow light cheeses (0.5 x a, b)
    a kitkat (11)
and dinner will be spinach and potato curry from the freezer with brown rice.

If the poo fairies don't visit me tonight there is something seriously wrong with my insides!!

Hope you're all managing to keep dry!!

Good luck with the 30 day shred. I started it with all good intentions and really enjoyed it (although she is a hard task master). Only thing I can say is be careful - specially around the knees - mine were killing for ages after so I stopped it. I will probably do it again sometime but am now going to the gym. x

Maman, I reset my target twice. Once when I was about 2 lb off my first target and when the consultant made her way round us that night she asked if I wanted to set my target lower and I said yes. I later realised this was silly for me and sensible for consultant - as it meant I didn't get any free weeks for reaching my target (thus she kept getting my dosh!) The next time I got near to target I didn't fall for it. I reached my target and stayed there 6 months and just recently decided to go half a stone lower to give me the leeway you mention, because I want to be a good bit below double figures! I kept going to group all the time though. You have to set a target half a stone (or more) lower than your previous target, if you see what I mean. I notice lately our consultant recommends people wait until they hit target and are possibly a pound or two below target because then you are already partway to your next half stone target. Not like silly me, I re-set my most recent target when I was a pound or two ABOVE my current target. No wonder I struggle with life in general is it? :rotfl: I'm a fool to myself :D

Thank you so much. I think I'll definitely say nothing to my consultant until I'm at target and then it will probably take me another month or more to get to 3lbs below. So that'll save me a least £20. It's great advice in that I'll then only need to lose 4 more lbs to get where I want to be! Bring it on!

Had unexpected syns last night, had a gov meeting where we said goodbye to our retiring head and there was a spread laid on. I had had my tea before I went but felt expected to have something. So I had celery, cucumber & carrots :A with a big spoonful of hummous :o The hostess for the night then brought out these fruit tarts she had made so HAD to have one so her feelings weren't hurt :D they were small though and I ate the strawberry first :A. Not really that bad just unexpected.

    B - weetabix hot water/ milk [.5a] coffee
    L - 2x wm rolls [2xb] lemon curd [3] toms, 2x cheese straws [4], p/white [2.5], fruit salad, activia
T - cheesy pasta bake [1.5a], mushrooms, tomatoes, spaggy hoops, bbq sauce [1]
Snacks - fruit salad, onken, celery, cue, carrots, hummous [?], tart [?]
    Syns - 7.5 + snack syns
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
    Keep the Faith All

well done Yorkie! And good on yer for going back to class h007. I do find it difficult, I was bored to death tonight but every now and then there's a little gem that makes it worth staying. I do like most of the people in class, but why are there always a couple of people who really honestly think we all want to listen to them wittering on for 10 minutes about their week? You get them in evening classes too, the ones who try to take over. Luckily there's a new mag this week, I flicked through that in the dull bits. Right, off for a shower to see if I can see where 1.5 lbs has gone from (that's 3 x the pile of fat in my avatar!)

I have to say that genuinely I am so lucky with my fellow groupmates - those of us who have been around for a year or so get on SO well together and have a really good laugh... There are times when I think we keep each other going more than our consultant does....

    Hi All,

Found this thread when googling about slimming world and it seemed like a friendly place.....I am thinking about joining slimming world, I have only 9.5 weeks until my wedding and I am desperate to loose weight. I would like to lose 3 stone initially (I know i wont do this by the wedding but I can make a dent in it!) but need to lose about twice that.

Do you think that the groups are worth going to??

Anyway today I have so far had boiled eggs, apple and muller light. Not really sure where to go from there!!

I went to WI last night and STS. Boo! I really felt thinner and I have been pretty good, so was hoping for a loss. However, onward and downward!

We had a stand in consultant last night, and what a difference! She was much more upbeat, funny and informative. When she went through the losses/gains she did not spend ages doing it, so it did not get boring. Everyone had their say and could ask questions but we did not get stuck with anyone droning on as normally happens.

Pity her normal group is miles away! She's on again next week and I'm looking forward to it. I guess some people are just naturals. As I STS she has asked me to fill in an SAS log. I must get started.

Annie G - thanks for the soup recipe, sounds good.

    Morning All,

Sorry i have been MIA - i have been on firt aid course for last 2 days

Lost 2.5lbs this week - YAY

Tried Zumba for first time on Saturday, was still aching yesterday! For my syns i went again last night!

I will be making it a regular thing now - i miss all the classes and gym i used to do - should help me get to my next goal!

If anyone is thinking of going - just go - it is really fun - but make sure you take a towel & at least 1 litre water!

DH has promised we can get a new sofa on the condition that i either get to my 5 stone award - or pay off the credit card (my part of it) Working it out i will be card free by end Nov but if i stick with it i could get it by end Oct!

I know it sounds strange, but i have wanted a new one for age & asked DH if he would make a deal with me for incentive!

Hopefully my mum & DH will be joinin me soon - as mum wants to lose weight & DH said he would when my mum did but i don't reckon he will want to!

Right - better get back to work!

I think it would be well worth joining for the weeks up to your wedding. If you stick to the plan religiously (and exercise a bit too if you can) then you could easily lose some weight. With your wedding as a goal you'd be really motivated. Go for it!

When you ask where to go from your (SW friendly) breakfast, what is it you want to know urgently? Obviously, going to a group will give you all the info on what to eat and what to avoid. Meantime go ahead and ask questions and look at what other people are eating to give you some tips. Good Luck.

Back on plan after yesterday's delicious but non SW friendly lunch.

    EE as ever:

B: NAS squash, fried egg, HEB toast, mushrooms, tomatoes, HEA milk in teas
L: probably a salad sandwich and I got some Black Forest fruits (frozen) from Aldi yesterday so I'll try a bowl of those
D: smoked haddock, sweet potato wedges, stir fried veg
    Snacks: more fruit

Morning all. Its miserable here today, we keep having sudden downpours!! I've just been out in the stockyard doing some inspections and got soaked!

I was just wondering if MRSM and DIZZY are ok as neither have them have been around for a while. Hope all is well with you both.

We're hoping to go to the fruit farm tonight if the weather stays fine then we'll visit DH's great aunt so I've planned a fairly quick tea.

I think it'll be Green today:

    Brekkie - porridge (HEA&B), banana
Lunch - mixed salad (forgot the dressing so it'll be a bit yuk!!), ham (half HEB), jacket spud, pineapple and grapes for pud and maybe a yog.
Tea - summer spaghetti (from delicious magazine, half hEB, and HEA2 for goats cheese), garlic bread (? syns), salad.

Just realised I hadn't put my jacket spud in the oven so lunch will be rather late now!! I'll have to eat my pud as a starter! Although I have heard that you should eat fruit before your main meal not after anyway as it helps you digest it better and reduces gas and bloating!
