OMG, I just got a visit to my house. I got Slimmer of the Week!!!! Wow.

Thanks to the person who said I have a lot on my plate. It has been a VERY long few weeks to be honest but feel better today and like a weight has been lifted.

I feel emabrrassed about what I eat cos lunch ham and crab sticks for me. Sometimes a cup a soup, and a muller light. You lot always seem to eat 'properly' but I am eating free foods rather than using syns on a sandwich (butter and bread).

I usually have pizza in the week - last week I had pizza twice, and I picked at Garlic bread the kids ate. But it is obviously working for me so I will carry on as I have been. Brilliant.

At weigh in last night (lost one pound, blimey I'm slow) there was talk of a Scan Bran trifle - has anyone tried this? It seemed to involve scan bran (obviously!) broken up, sugar free jelly poured over, fresh fruit added and topped with ff yoghurt. May be worth a try?
Another member who had lost 7 lbs (it was her first week) swore by cold potatoes! Can't remember the expanation as to why they would be better than hot potatoes, but it sounded plausable at the time.
Next week we will have a stand in consultant, it will be interesting to see how she runs the class.
Now, if I can just lose one more pound by next week I will get my Club 10.

Back on the tank! Good luck all.

Toilet habits - Dizzy you suggested strawberries and my god they worked a treat. Now however I have gone completely the other way and have an explosion every morning and in such a desperate hurry too. Totally out of the blue, no warning, just an urgent need to go :o. But then I have IBS so its either one way or the other, no happy medium :(.

Anyone striking tomorrow? In norfolk the schools are closed for the Norfolk show so we aren't striking. Off out for buffet lunch tomorrow so having a day off :p.

My poor Mum [& sister/family] missed their flight to Lanzarote yesterday, they had been on the road since 5am and got stuck in traffic [flight was 8.30am] managed to get another flight from Luton [cost £100 pp & there was 10 of them ] she text me at 10.45pm to say they'd just got to hotel. She was so shattered, can't imagine how 3 toddlers coped with it all either. No doubt will hear all about when they get back. So glad I didn't go :D.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Try licquorice allsorts to give the desired effect in the toilet department. They're 5 syns per 28gms and it's a treat as well as doing you good.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

    Evening all

I'm gutted that Quorn sausages are now synned! I don't eat them often but they make a good snacky food.

Can someone please tell me if Nature's Path Pumpkin & Raisin Huddle Cereal is a HEB? Or if not what the syns are? I randomly had a free full sized box through the post today!

    Green day for me:

B - oats (HEB), FF yog, raspberries
L - couscous, salad, HB egg
D - omelete (eggs, onion, garlic, peppers, cheese - HEA), new pots, LF mayo (2.5syns), tinned spaghetti
Snacks - banana, pear, plum, raspberries, cheese (HEA)
Drinks - green tea, coffee, water, squash

    Total syns = 2.5

Still have a HEB to play with for later

    Hello
I just wanted to add my tuppenceworth about vege protein. I have quorn occasionally, but mostly get my protein from beans, pulses and quinoa. There's some protein in most vegetables, and you don't need to eat as much protein as most people think. I've read that most meat eaters get much more protein than is necessary, so I'm not at all worried if I don't have protein in every main meal, or even every day (although the food I try to eat has it in anyway IYKWIM)

Eta I just had this link emailed to me, all about vegan protein! http://www.thekindlife.com/post/a-primer-on-protein

Nothing to do with protein, but I had cke today and it was lush. Only about 10 syns worth but amazing and it made my day!!!

Ps Dizzy... I had to read your post twice, I thought you were having DOG POO POWDER!!!!!
Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.

This is the reply i got - very quick response - not good about the sausages but good about the mince & pieces!

    Dear Nessie

Thank you for your recent contact regarding the new Quorn sausages.

We are aware that our sausages are now not syn free on the Slimming World food plan. Quorn sausages (250g packs) available in major retailers are, we believe, one syn now and the sausages (300g packs) available in Lidl and Farm Foods stores are 1/2 syn.

We have no plans to revert to the old sausage recipe. We apologise for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause you.

The fat content in our Quorn sausages is significantly lower than the average meat sausage. (About 50% less fat.)

We wanted to make our new sausages as tasty as possible, whilst still being healthier than the meat versions. We found that slightly more fat in our sausages really added lots more flavour.

When we showed our new sausages to a wide variety of our current buyers, they were pleasantly surprised that such a great tasting sausages was still relatively low in fat vs. the meat ones.

There are no plans to alter the recipes of the Quorn Mince or Quorn Pieces at this time.

We hope this has answered your question.

Thank you once again for your enquiry and please do not hesitate to contact us again if you require any further information or advice.

Assuring you of our best attention at all times.

    Yours sincerely

It's a nice letter and a good response from them. I have bought but not tried the new sausages, but at the same time I bought, and have tried, Quorn Red Leicester and Onion sausages and they are YUMMY! They'd be more syns I suppose, having the cheese in, but I only have one with a mixed grill/cooked breakfast. I'll check the syns in a mo while I think of it.

I'm sad they aren't changing the taste of their mince though, cos currently it has NO taste imo, I use gallons of various flavourings if I use it. I do love Asda meatfree meatballs, they're tasty and a few syns for the whole enormous bagful. I'm not a vegetarian believe it or not, but would never eat anything minced like sausages if it was "real" meat cos I've never fancied the bits they are rumoured to put in. nostrils.:rotfl:

they aren't many syns, only 1 per sausage, so it's still less than a bar of choc for a snack and Jelly Babies are one syn per baby, guess how I know.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Well done woot:T that's a start on getting back to your pre-wedding weight.

I've got my first WI tomorrow but after just a 10 day holiday. I've been back on the plan since last Saturday but suddenly today I'm feeling bloated. Maybe the alcoholic syns from last week are catching up:o. Anyhow, I'll hear the bad news in the morning and then push on towards my target.

    MY EE plan today was:
B: NAS squash, scrambled egg, mushrooms, tomatoes HEA milk in tea and HEB toast
L: leek and courgette soup, wholemeal roll and banana
D: gammon, roasted veg, boulangere potatoes
    Snacks: apple & cottage cheese

The soup and roll were in a cafe so would have had syns (roll too big and soup must have had oil/cream) but I had plenty of syns spare for the week.
