And another one that tickled me no end:-

    HEALTH QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!!... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets. And remember: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride"

I let my mind wander and it never came back!

    Brilliant posts consultant, thanks :D

Over-endulged a tad on the alcohol front this weeked, but I was good with the food. Been a killer at work today, stuck in a meeting for over 2 hours in a stuffy office with no air-conditioning. So I've been a bit too hot to eat too much today. EE as usual though.

B: Banana, milk in teas (HEA)
S: satsuma, hi-fi bar (HEB), ww tortilla crisps (3)
    L: co-op chicken pasta salad (3), mullerlight
    S: satsuma, strawberries
D: chicken & vegetable curry, rice. skinny cow lolly (3.5)

Hopefully we'll have a thunderstorm soon. I've got a bit of a headache as it's so close here.

Evening all - back on the wagon after my weekend treats (for maintaining - I stick to the plan in the week and have a few treats on the weekend).

    Today's food has been...

Breakfast - Fibre plus bar (B choice)
    Mid morning - banana
Lunch - morrocan couscous (2.5 syns), grapes, strawberries, raspberries, satsuma
Tea - quorn burger, new potatoes, salad, beetroot, pickled cabbage, boiled egg, dollop of tomato sauce (1 syn), cheese (A choice)
Snack - few walnut halves, seeds (B choice combined) few chocolate buttons (2 syns?)

So that's 2 B choices, 1 A choice and 5.5 syns so far - may have a few raspberries with a dollop of chocolate spread later if desperate

    Hope everyone is ok?

My courgette plants are growing like mad so I'm keen to hear any recipes, especially syn free ones. In Turkey, last week, I had courgette fritters (mucver) and asked for the recipe in the restaurant. They told me grated courgette, grated carrot, some herbs and seasoning and then bind with an egg. The on-line recipes look more complicated and have flour in but I'm going to give the above a go. It'd be lovely with yogurt and mint dip if it works.
Courgettes are nice raw, Maman, cut into matchstick shapes, or larger if you want.

Welcome back Consultant and Mrs M! Glad things are on the mend, Dizzy.

I am LOVING this weather though I'd prefer to be out in it not sitting at work. It's just right for me, I am neither too hot nor too cold. I spend 99/100ths of the year freezing.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

well that was a week and a half - culminating in a fabulous bbq at my friend's house complete with every kind of pudding you can imagine.

My halo slipped and choked me, and all in all I put on 3lbs...

*sigh* at least I'm not going over the stone mark so I'm still ok...this week I've picked up a smashing summer cold and I'm ratty as hell!

Fingers crossed I can shift these pesky few pounds.

    *hugs* to all x

Morning all. We did manage to get our BBQ in the end, although I ended up sat holding the parasol over it when it started raining!!!

MRSM, glad to see you back and I hope your leg is better soon.

It's looking decidedly dull and drizzly here today! I'm hoping it'll brighten up later as we're having tea at MIL's and I'd like to walk there (5miles) if its not raining. will meet OH there in the car so we can go to MrT afterwards.

Food will be EEish but brekkie isn't quite 1/3 superfree but lunch is probably 2/4 superfree!!

Brekkie - WM pitta (HEB), beans, egg, nectarine
Lunch - tuna, HUGE salad, salad cream (2) leftover new potatoes, HUGE tub of pineapple, strawberries and grapes
    Tea - ??? at MIL's
    HEA - milk in tea
Syns - will save the rest for tea, MIL cooks with oil and sometimes cooks naughty stuff like pie or sausages!!! If she's done somethign healthy then I'll have a biscuit with my cuppa!!

    hi all.
lost 4lb in 2 weeks and managed to gain it all in 2 days:eek:. camping weekends are evil! baileys fell into my hand with an involuntry twitch ended up in my mouth, i was shocked. it kept happening till the bottle was empty. then fell over a bottle of martini which flew in the air and landed in my mouth!!! as if i was in a scene from fantasia the crisps, choclate and snacks all started dancing around my head and land on my tongue. burgers sausages were aplenty and to stop everyone getting high chloesteral it was better to share it all, i'm pleased i've saved some poor !!!!!! future problems !!!!!!. the only way to stop the flying objects was to eat them and make sure they were well and truely destroyed!! so after my weekend of forced indulgence i now feel fat, blotted and really not on track. dizzy bring on the tank and run me over for god sake. please ladies boot me up the bum and tell me to sort myself out (there a choc mini roll calling me from the fridge, arggghhhh)

todays plan is to just eat anything that doesn't result in choclate, crisps or cheese toastie
Make the most of each day, live life with no regrets:j

    Morning All,

DIZZY do you have any of that super duper sticky glue? I need strapping into the tank! :rotfl:

Overindulged last week - ate all the left over birthday cakes/biscuits & lots of meals out etc. And promptly put on 4lbs at WI last night!

So that is 7.5lbs in 2 weeks ... Whoops :o

    __________________________________________________

I have drawn the line (again) and this time i will not go back

Meals nearly planned for week - today is sorted and will be a green day

B - 'Magic' Couscous with frozen cherries
L - Butternut squash and lentil curry with couscous
D - Leftover beef casserole from freezer (used a small packet to make about 6 portions so working on 28g beef is 2 syns and the pack was 400g = 5 syns) with aunt bessies carrot and swede mash & cauliflower & broccoli
S - 5 scan bran (heb) with lemon curd quark (2), milk (hea) in coffees, 2 alpen lights (heb)

I possibly could go with an EE day and not have to syn the beef - but i don't reckon i have enough superfree to have EE - need to go shopping tonight

I am doing our raffle at SW whilst my regular consultant is away - any ideas on a theme - bearing in mind i only have £4.56 to spend!

    Onwards and Downwards! :j

P.S. MrsM - if you need anyone to give you recommendations to become a consultant - i am sure there are plenty around here that will! Including me!

    S: more fruit if needed!
D: Not sure yet, running the fridge and freezer down before hols so ????? Got loads of quorn and veggies in so I might make a concoction:rotfl:

Morning all, hugs to all those struggling. We all know the plan works when we stick to it so draw a line under all that had gone wrong and climb back on the tank and I am sure Dizzy will put extra strong glue on the seats for those who are struggling.

    B - melon and grapes
    S - cherries
L - ham, hb egg, lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes. Crisps (5)
    S - apple
D - quick pasta n sauce with added cheese (hea), peas and celery before I go to zumba
    S - strawberries
