Can I ask, it says in the book 'choose 1 or 2 HEA's on the green/original section - why 1 or 2, please. So if I want milk AND cheese in one day, I can have it? Thanks.

I miss cheese more than anything else.

Went to MrS and actually bought a pair of cropped jeans and a floaty top [deep pink] should have tried the jeans on there cos they don't fit . Size 12 on the label but I thought they looked big, more like a 14 so will have to take them back, upside is will exchange them for a size 10 :D [even though I think its really a 12].

Took son to his run site even though it was raining, we drove to other end and waited in the car for him, not as daft as he is :rotfl:. Hopefully we will walk sometimes when its dry :D. Dog over did it yesterday and has been limping so he stayed at home. Had him examined but its only a strain.

Got home with trapped wind so had a lie down to 'relieve' the pressure :o good job the window was open :rotfl:. Think its all the fruit I've had today, had a huge bowl of pineapple, 2x apples, melon, grapes & strawberries, really not keen on strawbs but edible with activia. Am hoping they have same affect on me as they do on Dizzy :rotfl:.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Ahhh! Why does everyone always have such interesting meal plans?! I only do green days as that's what I prefer and all I seem to eat is pita bread with philadelphia, veg filled jacket potatoes (or just plain!) with beans, Macaroni "Pasta n Sauce" and pasta with sweetcorn and cheese/veg sauce! Oh... And apples! Many, many apples! I've tried a few of the SW recipes (mainly desserts) and don't think a lot to them... in fact I think nothing to them! I tried making a bolognese using Quorn as the ones I make with meat are really tasty, but it just tasted mushy! Anyone got any ideas of how to mix it up a bit? Just a case of writing down everything you like to eat and creating new meals out of that? Ho hum!

Not sure why theres a choice but if you want both have them. I often have cheese and milk or 2 lots of cheese. Thats why I prefer green days :D can have 3 lots of cheese on a green day as can use a HEb for cheese too :D

:T:T whoooohooo fab about the jeans being too big (well not that you have to trail back to return them:(but great that you have to get a 10:D)

I Hated (nearly as much as fish!) strawbs at first....now I'm finding them a lot easier to manage especially as they are english & in season so a lot sweeter, but I prefer to have them with Activia aswell.....its worth persevering with them to get the results in the toilet dept tho hun (just grab a few at a time and hold your nose as you eat them if you have to lol)

I didn't realise that about brekkie either......so would a pile of strawberries with me toast be ok????
Yup! Or later. Or have tomatoes on your toast instead of marmalade :)

yes you can have two if you want but only on red or green days. On EE I think you get more choices of things to eat anyway so your calcium and fibre (in HEBs) are getting eaten.

What did you eat before SW? I just eat the same but cook it in a SW way. Obviously if you ate a lot of cheese that now has to be limited. Some people have more success than others with SW recipes, personally I've not been impressed. That's why I continue to cook "my" way but without the use of olive or sesame oil unless I syn it as a treat. Using quorn as a meat substitute does demand a LOT more flavouring I find, eg use two oxo cubes instead of one, or use worcestershire sauce plus a spoonful of marmite, etc.

    thank you Slimming World!

Up until March, I had baddd gallstones so anything with any fat, even SS milk, caused me massive pain therefore I ate quite healthily before SW - sweet things were my downfall! However, in March I was really ill for a week, couldn't eat or stand... no pain since! I think they passed so I'm back on the cheese! Woo! Anyway, back to my original point, I'm basically not eating much differently, with the exception of cutting out desserts, but I'm sooo bored! Pasta pasta pasta, potatoes potatoes potatoes, stir fry stir fry stir fry... I've got a sort of dieting writers block where I cannot think up any exciting recipes!! Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm quite fussy with foods so that definitely doesn't help - we end up having the same veg in every meal - asparagus, peas, sweetcorn, mange tout!!!

    Morning!!
I had a great day yesterday, green and fabulous with a yummy plate of quorn sausages, mushrooms, beans and toast for lunch and an even yummier spaghetti with tomoatoes on olives for dinner!
I've been thinking about MrsM's conversion to whole foods, and think that I'll give this a go. I've always been interested in nutrition and 'clean' eating, but have never quite managed to put it into practice, so I'm going to try now, by cutting out as much processed food as possible (inc cakes, biscuits, crisps etc), getting rid of artificial sweetner and eating as much wholegrain and beans as possible. I've got a couple of books that are full of amazing recipes, so am going to give it my best shot!
So today is as follows: I think I'll call it EE for now
    oats, berries and yog (B)
    fruit
leftover spaghetti with tomato and olives (guessing 4 for the olives, but there aren't actually many in it)
    fruit and yog
Spinach and potato curry with tamarind quinoa
And I'll have a couple of cups of tea for the A.

fingers crossed there won't be any biscuits in the office when I get there!!

    Happy monday everyone!
Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.

    What did I eat before

Fatitas - can't have the wrap anymore
Fish & chips (without batter is just not the same, no matter what anyone else says)
    Fishfingers
    Sausages
PIE - oh, I miss pie
    Pork pie
Cheese sandwich (but I could still have this in moderation
CRISPS with my lunch. This will be the hardest thing for me to give up to be fair. I used to have crisps every day.
Crispy onions and lashings of salad cream on my salad
    Tuna mayonaise on my pasta
Ice cream after tea as pudding
Biscuits. What did I have with my coffee now? Fruit and coffee is not the same.

But I do know why I've got weight to lose. I have no self control.

    *Sigh*

I know I can have them using syns but I feel I need to have some control over the syns else I'll use them on one meal and not have any 'back up'.

However, for those missing chocolate. 1 tsp of Nutella on 2 crispbreads is surprisingly good at filling a 'chocolate' hole and is (I think) 4.5 syns.

If I have something that needs sugar on I am going to use syrup when I can as it is less syns at 2syns per tbsp (in cooked apples for example).

I think I am going to have sweet and sour chicken with egg friend rice tonight though.

    What did I eat before

Fatitas - can't have the wrap anymore - you can do, just need to syn it (approx 6-9syns depending on the make). I tend to have one wrap and then use iceberg lettuce leaves if I want more than one.
Fish & chips (without batter is just not the same, no matter what anyone else says) - SW chips are very yummy :)
    Fishfingers
Sausages - I'm veggie so not much help here, but Quorn sausages are free
PIE - oh, I miss pie
    Pork pie
Cheese sandwich (but I could still have this in moderation) - grate your cheese to make it feel more, and you can have more cheese if you have LF cheese
CRISPS with my lunch. This will be the hardest thing for me to give up to be fair. I used to have crisps every day. - You can have crisps everyday if you wish! I do somedays. You need to have baked crisps rather than fried. I'm liking the Pombear crisps at moment which are 5syns and feel like a proper size packet of crisps.
Crispy onions and lashings of salad cream on my salad - LF salad cream is lowish in syns (2.5 per tbspn I think?)
Tuna mayonaise on my pasta - again use LF or VLF mayo
Ice cream after tea as pudding - ice cream isn't that high actually, about 5.5syns per scoop. Mini milks are 1.5yns, mini twister/soleros etc are about 3syns each.
Biscuits. What did I have with my coffee now? Fruit and coffee is not the same. - Kitkats are 5.5 syns, or make the HEB flapjacks that I posted link to yesterday (syn free but are one of your HEB choices)

But I do know why I've got weight to lose. I have no self control.

    *Sigh*

I know I can have them using syns but I feel I need to have some control over the syns else I'll use them on one meal and not have any 'back up'. - everyone is different but I tend to be syn free for breakfast and lunch and then I have the choice of using my syns for dinner or for choc/crisps etc in the evening.

With anything you try it takes awhile to get used to different tastes but trust me you can. SW is so versatile and there is normally a LF or 'cheats' way to get somethign nice lower in syns!

    Good luck

    x

ps my syn values are estimated above as I don't have my book with me at moment, but *think* they are pretty much right. Just double check before you indulge and blame me!
