I don't wash my fruit or veg either (unless obviously got dirt on). To be honest, washing wouldn't make a blind bit of difference in the E. coli instance anyway (I'm a microbiologist, kind of) so don't worry about it.

Its soooo sunny today its making me want to go any buy some shorts! Might pop into nearby town shortly and go to greengrocers etc.

I ended yesterday pretty well with an M&S pasta salad for only 5.5 syns and a packet of french fries (4). Was pleased to survive a whole day travelling with only those 9.5 syns, I checked out my usual choices online and would have been 40+!!

    Today is not quite decided:

B: strawberries, raspberries and FF yog
L: pitta bread (HEB) with philly light (0.5 HEA) and lots of (unwashed) salad

No idea what to make for dinner, might look online for inspiration. I did have a glass of blackcurran cordial earlier which wasnt low sugar..,. any ideas on syns?

Gailey, if you're feeling hungry then you should eat! So many things are free... get some pasta or meat or whatever down you! Being hungry is not the right way to lose weight, nor can it be good for your general mood surely?

Gailey just beware the amount of bananas you eat, yes they are a free food but have been known to affect weight loss. Also mashing them 'technically' makes them syns as you 'could' eat more mashed than you 'would' whole or some such rubbish :D but most of us don't bother synning them .
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

The mashing banana thing would also be similar to sticking it in a smoothie type of thing would it not? (as well as making them really easy to eat lots more of) we've had this discussion at class before and it was agreed that slicing a banana is fine but mashing does something to the structure of it?? so you need to syn it like you would with any pureed fruit.

Me again, the question machine (still lurking and reading all your posts...)!! I know that you have to syn pureed fruit etc etc... but, if you would normally eat say 2 oranges and a packet of raspberries in the day and make a smoothie out of them (ie not loads and loads of stuff, and using the whole fruit!) is that still synned or is that ok? I know lots of diets "ban" smoothies cos it's not the whole fruit and just the juice, but Slimming World says you can't have them because of the volume... but surely if you're having the same amount as what you'd eat anyway and using the whole fruit, it doesn't matter? Could anyone clarify?

My understanding is that it's something to do with the structure of the fruit being broken down and the sugar absorbed more easily. But I may be completely wrong so don't hold me to that!!

I had the most amazing lunch today.. enormous salad with mixed leaves, cherry toms, cucumber, beetroot, pickled onions, orange pepper, mint, chives, coriander, chick peas, new pots and a squeeze of lemon juice over the top. Blinking lovely!!!

Yes I thought that may be the case! Unless anyone else knows otherwise, I'll stick to eating my fruit rather than drinking it :D

Hopefully you'll get some wear out of them if this weather keeps up, but just think the next size down is a '12' :T.

I have been a good girl and have had NO SYNS but its all down hill later :rotfl:
    So far I've had:
    B - weetabix hot water/ milk [part a], coffee
Snack - 4x apple, melon, pineapple, onken
L - cheesy mash [other part a], toms & spaggy hoops [even went without my bbq sauce ]
Snack - 4x apple, melon, pineapple, onken
Tea will be - scampi, chips, peas & salady bits
Have had a fair bit of superfree today to hopefully counteract tea :D

Well we didn't go to the mexican for lunch, but instead the boss took us to the pub. He was buying, so it would have been rude not to have 2 vodka lime & sodas . Also had 4 chips, 2 thai prawns and a spicy chicken wing, but I left the skin. Then back to the offce for lunch (and a sleep :rotfl:). So I've gone way over syns today (especially after going to tescos hungry), so I'm going to go with a flexi-day and start again tomorrow.

B: alpen light (HEB), mullerlight, banana
    S: Apple
L: 4 chips(?), 2 prawns(?), chicken wing,2 vodkas (8) wholemeal roll (6), salad, chicken tikka slices, alpen light (HEB)
S: a handful of bacon rasher crisps (??), apple, 4 foxes choc fudg creams (???)
D: pork chop, bbq chicken chunks & prawn skewers (?), new potatoes, salad

And probably more vodka or lager later.

So, pretty much off plan then. Oops. But the biscuits were so nice :D
