    Morning Peeples

Feeling a tad washed out this morning.....the new head meds are prrettty evil I must say :o Still - they seemed to do their job and took away the migraine before it developed into a 'biggie'. Just not too sure I like the side effects or whether Its a good idea with my balance issues  I've had to resort to the zimmer again yesterday/today as i'm really not very steady at all.....I feel p!ssed ! :(_pale_ (cheap date dizzy lol)

Must try & get something to eat in a bit, think I will be having a green day today but not entirely sure what. probably a JP with something....beans & HEA cheese sounds like a plan for now.

I'll be back in a bit no doubt. x

It does seem to be a bit of an issue. Most people probably don't have the backup of a site like this... they have to trust the consultant at meetings (which you pay enough for and expect to be right!)

As I understand it they (the consultants) were told at one of their meetings - so this will be the theory being given out all over York.....

We have a replacement consultant next week as ours is on holiday - I might bring it up at the meeting......

The only person I told was my DH as he needed to get onside as he shares the cooking (and eating) at home. When people started noticing I'd lost weight I just said 'healthy eating' to start with and, if pushed, said the things I avoid on SW. More recently I have told a few people when specifically asked. What I want to avoid is 'going on' about it when I'm out for meals etc which is why I tend to eat syn-free at home and keep syns for socialising.

Hmmm. I think my problem is my OH doesn't think I need to lose weight, and his family are all super slim and I doubt he's ever been exposed to anything like SW. His only experience of weight loss is an ex GF with borderline bulimia. He knows I like to eat healthily (more healthily than him!) but I do all the cooking etc. So at the moment I am cooking 2 variations of the same meal, a SW one for me and then he gets extra bread or whatever to boost his calories (he needs to eat as much as poss due to illness). Obviously our packed lunches for work are totally different which is fine. We can eat similar suppers - his plate of ryvita will be with butter whereas mine might be philly, or i'll have fruit and yoghurt instead.

I have told one friend (who is always on some diet or another). She reckons SW doesnt work but I suspect its because she didnt embrace it properly (she has a real anti-carb mentality) or give it long enough.

I just checked on-line and 71g of Philadelphia Light is listed as a HEA on EE (did it thrugh the food diary). Is this true?

Yep, and it equates to 2 of those individual pot things, so very convinient for taking to work etc.:j

    Good afternoon all

Well done on those losses everyone :T
    Hugs to those feeling poorly

So then after much umming and ahhing here is todays meal plan -red carb curfew as usual......
    8am
    pineapple
    melon
    banana

    12pm
    veggies cheese (cauli,broc+onion)(A)
    71g peas (B)
    bacon (4)

    4pm
    198g stewed apple (B)
    activia
    (2.5)
    7pm
    prawns
    avocado (6)
    lettuce
    cucumber
    tomato
    raddish
    celery
    onions
    tickled cabbage
    tickled beetroot
    tickled onions

    250ml semi (A)
SO I make that 2A+B and 12.5 syns

I don't know why but I don't fancy "bulky" carbs today -so Im had my beloved frozen garden peas... AND Im not normally bothered about stewed fruit either but 1)it uses up a heB easily and 2)I have some apples that want using
I have to say that lunch was scrummy -mainly because I "paid" for my bacon so I could leave the fat on and get it really crispy (Im sorry but bacon without fat -just isn't bacon :p) .... Im making the most of it as Im going to be cutting it out soon .....
Hubby is on his 2nd day of his golf comp -so he will be having "easy, cheese, chorizo n veg pasta" tonight -he requested it again even as he was eating it last night :p -still as the name says -"its easy" and quick,,,
Right Im away to get some more planning done..
    Have a great day everyone...

I can see that would be a problem if your DH's only experience of weightloss was so drastic.

At home, we operate in much the same way as you. OH has spread/butter but I don't. I buy him a (very) few biscuits/cakes/crisps for the odd snack but I make sure I buy him things I don't like so I'm not tempted! He eats almost exactly the same breakfasts as me but I have squash when he has juice and we have different bread.

Strangely, as we have a holiday approaching my DH has embraced SW even more. He's given up sugar in his tea (hates sweetener) and is eating far more fruit than usual. I think it's vanity as he has a bit of a tum but he's hardly overweight.

I'm about half a stone from target and I think he's starting to think 'enough' but generally he's been hugely supportive and complementary. We've been married for over 30 years and now I'm back to the shape I was for the first 20+ so he's as pleased as I am to have the 'real' me back.:D

Yes I know its understandable, and it is only born out of concern, nothing more sinister than that! I guess he's seen one girl get obsessed and been exposed to the negative side to weight loss... so is over sensitive to it.

It probably doesn't help that I do a fair bit of running, mountain biking and various other extreme sports which means he often has genuine reason to fear for my welfare (i've come home in some right states but luckily not actually broken anything yet).

Ah well, we all know that SW is a healthy way to eat... so there shouldnt be any objection that I can't disprove :rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks for the tip nessie. I'm going to give that a try. Just lately, it seems how ever small I cut up swede and however long I cook it, it never seems to mash down smoothly. Auntie Bessie's stuff is often on offer too, I'll be keeping an eye out.

Have you got a potato ricer? I put mine through that and it comes out good. I also cut it quite small and boil for quite a while. With the potato ricer you can also first squeeze a lot more water out of it before you actually get to the stage of it going through the holes. IYKWIM

Today is going to be a RED day - (we seem to be favouring these at the moment)
    B - Yogurt and fruit
L - Ryvita with some egg mayo (1syn)
T - We are having some chicken fajittas with lots of salad. Not sure how many syns the fajittas are but will not have any more of them today to help.
snacks will be fruit and yogurt.
HEA milk for drinks and some cheese. HEB ryvitas not sure about the second one yet.
Have just been and brought some frozen berries 3-4-£5 and am going to take some out of the freezer most nights and leave in the fridge to have with either yogurt or cereals in the mornings.

Good luck everyone for over the holiday weekend.

I don't even know what a potato ricer is! Interested to hear about the carrot mash though, I love that stuff and would be an easy option on a red day when I can serve OH frozen roasties or something.

I am feeling a bit carp today and havent done much at all except surf the net.

    So far:

B: all bran (HEB), milk (HEA)
L: tomato & pasta sauce, half a packet as i lost interest in it.

So green and EE options open for now. I think I'm going to go to morisons this afternoon and get some inspiring food back in the house :-)
