Oooh, slightly scary stepping into this forum (although not as scary as stepping onto the scales!).

I did Slimming World last year, but stopped halfway through my pregnancy as I didn't feel it was very MSE to pay to go to meetings every week only to be told it's ok to have put on weight as you're pregnant!! Fair point of course, but during the first few months I was actually loosing weight, then stayed the same for a few weeks, so it was obviously working as I was loosing my own weight at the same rate as gaining baby weight.
But then since then I have put on faaaarrrr too much weight for my own good, and think it may be starting to affect me more now as I'm starting to feel really tired, and run down, and like the things that really shouldn't feel like hard work, knacker me out! :(

My son is 1 now, so I really can't keep using him as an excuse for being too fat! We are thinking about trying for another baby at the start of next year, but I wouldn't want to do this until I have lost quite a lot of weight due to all the extra risks involved.

So I'm back in, although only on here as don't want to pay out for group!! :D I have a few friends who have done amazingly on SW as well, and I know I did well on it before, so I know first hand that I can do it.

Hopefully things haven't changed too much since I went to group, although I'm sure everyone here will be a wealth of info.

So here's to the start of loosing a grand total of 4 stone.... Oo-er!! :D

I can't get on the website now because I don't go to meetings but when I did go to meetings earlier this year both my consultant and I also found it listed with rice, couscous, quinoa and other grains on the 'free on Green' page' I printed it off and still have it somewhere. I know it's listed as 5syns per 28g on the syns online which is why I queried it in the first place, I've done SW on and off for over 10 years and it was always free when they just had Red and Green days. I only do Green days as I'm veggie so I do tend to stick with what I know.:D

I've got caught up reading this discussion and tho I have never bought or eaten polenta I DO have my books to hand. In my book (I joined in January 2010 so it is mainly EE with a couple of pages explaining Red and Green) polenta is NOT listed under grains in EE, and on the Green page it says "offers you unlimited pasta, potatoes, grains, pulses,....." but does not give a list; I would assume the list is those shown under EE. In the back of the book, Rice, Pasta and Grains, it has:

    Polenta, whole grain, 28g raw = 5.0 5.0 5.0
Polenta, whole grain, ready to use, 28g cooked = 1.0 1.0 1.0 - dunno if that helps or if someone has already put that, but I did enjoy doing the colours.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Dizzy, bread has the same effect on me, I do however, find that I can eat WM pitta without a problem so I just have those all of the time. Some people believe that alot of people's problems with bread are due to modern mass production techniques used to make the bread rise really quickly rather than the wheat or yeast. The fermentation process doesn't happen fully and thats meant to be something to do with it. I'm pretty sure thats my problem as when I treat myself to homemade bread (that I leave to rise really slowly) it doesn't seem to affect me the same.

Thanks for this Info Lisa...... I do usually have WM Pitta in the freezer, I'll have these in future and ditch the bread completely!! :o This is what you get when you go for the buy 3 for £1.?? offers on bread rolls :money: :rotfl:

Definitely agree about the bread; I hardly ever eat it but if I do I s-w-e-l-l-l-l-l-l right up, I was blaming the yeast but you are probably right it's the method. I have no problem with wholemeal pittas (yummy) or poppadoms or such, only with raised bread. Luckily I've never been keen on it except occasionally garlic bread if I'm out, I'll eat that :D

Dizzy I am so glad to see you back, it's quiet without you and we do worry. (I had a dizzy turn myself last night, slept for 12 hours - the first three on the floor as I couldn't be bothered to go to bed)! Middle ear infection, annual occurance, tablets had run out dammit. My own fault. Anyway, I do hope they get you sorted out soon, 12 hours was enough for me xx

    .

Awww Blackers.....poor you!!!:(:A I hope you get some tablets soon, ears are nasty awful things making you hug the floor aren't they.....Its sometimes safer down there though huh? :o

Just called in to say I did manage a Syn Free Saturday:j and very miserable it was too! I certainly wouldn't recommend it!;)

It now means I can have a day out during the week and have syns spare in case the menu isn't very SW friendly. Plus tomorrow I can have my roast with gravy and I might even treat myself to a spoon of horseradish.:)

    Good morning.
Everyone seems to be losing... well done and keep it up!
I had a really good day yesterday until the evening, when there was a serious accident involving a packet of biscuits. I think I must have clocked up about 30 syyns worth. I don't know why I had the first one, I know it's a slippery slope and I can't stop at one. Anyway, I shall have to have a syn fre day today, and will stick to 5 or 6 a day for the rest of the week so hopefully my small blip won't matter too much. There aren't any biscuits left now anyway!!

Pay day on Wednesday so i may go and look for some new sales, I've got those digital salter ones too and they seem to have a mind of their own!

We didn't have the delicious mince yesterday, I turned it into a red day by having some fish with steamed vegetables for dinner. Today will be green and good and I won't scoff any naughtiness and will be as follows:

    oats, mixed berries, yogurt (B)
Ryvita and a banana (rest of B)
    spagetti on toast (B)
    Fruit fruit fruit
delicious mince and cheesy mash (2xA)

And a walk in the wind for some exercise!
    Happy sunday everyone.
