It seems that any programme that needs a connection to the internet seems to not load or give an error message. The system scan is running now

  • AVG will only do a command line scanner as its in safe mode Which i am running. If not in safe mode it doesn't work at all and brings up the error message.

Firefox is at loading but won't go to any pages as i suppose the wireless is switched off?

You've really got to answer his questions completely as I'm sure it's possible even for closed to run out of patience. He's trying to figure out which programs work under which circumstances, and what circumstances cause programs not to run. Without that information, he can't tell what is possible to do to help you.

What error message do you get for AVG? Is AVG the only program that doesn't run out of safe mode.

You need to run "sfc /scannow" in an elevated process, e.g. press Start > Programs, and look for Command, then right click on it and select "Run as Administrator". Then you should be able to run the SFC /scannow in the command prompt.
  • As it is only a computer to go on the internet with we have hardly any programmes on it.

Windows live writer works although no wireless so when it tries to go to a web page it can't.
    Microsoft works, loads
    Microsoft silverlight loads

There isn't anything else on it that i would class as a programme.
