yes, as per russ' post, you need an .ISO image of one of the boot-scanners from his link. I would try avira first (only take an hour or so to scan) or dr web (detects more including better for rootkits, but can take many hours to scan)

Right click on them, and save them to your desktop. Alternatively, go to this page:

and download the COM and EXE ones yourself, and unzip them yourself. Copy those over to the affected computer, and right click on one file and select
'merge', then do the same for the other file.0 -

Then try the other methods already described, such as a bootable antivirus as in post 18 (http://forum.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=43283168&postcount=18) or the Windows 7 recovery disc mentioned in post 21.0

So i have downloaded the rescue system and also unetbootin and have copied them to the usb stick.
Restarted the computer with the usb stick in and then pressed f2. I then put the usb drive at the top of the list to boot from and then saved changes.
The computer then starts to boot and then says error check cable connection
