This morning I've UU my BS Pink Grapefruit Body Butter. I WBA but I've got several butters in the stash and more arriving later from the glitch. I'm onto a lotion now as the weather is warmer, not sure which one to choose though.

Inapickle - Clean on Me will last forever, I bought one last summer and whilst I haven't used it every time I shower I have used it very regularly and there is still a third left. I am fed up of the sight of it, the worst thing is I have another full size one from the tote set and a full size clean girls:eek:

Apart from my magazine freebies I have no other in's so far this month, this is fab for me, hope I can keep it up.

    Welcome newbies.

BTW - my dog is driving me crazy, it is like living with a rhino, he is smashing the place to bits with the blasted cone on his head, good job it's there though or he would have scratched his ear badly by now - poor thing.

I can see this happening. I'm going to try to be as systematic as possible in using ONLY Clean Girls as much as possible (i.e. 99% of the time), but it's still going to take forever. If I'm having a quick flannel wash of my feet etc. I use a squirt of that in the sink instead of whatever else I might normally use, but it's still going to be a Long Haul Job (ooh, can we have another anacronym of LHJ for products that seem to go on foreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever?! :rotfl:). Also, I have another large shower gel in the form of Wash Almighty, which came in that post-Christmas bundle. Oh very dear!

The nice thing is that once I've used it all up I'm going to keep the bottle and fill it with my HG Original Source Mint & Tea Tree shower gel (it will take 3 whole bottles of the OS to fill it!), and use it as an economical dispenser for that.

All in about a year's time, of course! :p

Anyone know if a clogged deodorant can be saved? I've tried changing the plastic spray bit at the top to one from a different deodorant but still not working. Do I just have to throw it out? It's too old for returning to the shop.

Try cleaning out the plastic spray bit by running it under warm water to see if it will declog it.

Charlie, I use this recipe which I really like and is really easy to do. I tried finding it on the net but it looks as though the BBC don't have it on their list of recipes anymore.

Prep time less than 30 mins
Cooking time less than 10 mins
    Serves 1

    Ingredients

    110g/4oz fresh tagliatelle
    1 tbsp olive oil
    55g/2oz pancetta, finely diced
1 small shallot, peeled and finely chopped
    1 garlic clove, finely chopped
    55ml/2fl oz double cream
    55g/2oz fresh pamesan, finely grated
    2 eggs, yolks only
    salt and freshly ground pepper

    Method

    1. Cook the tagliatelle as per the packet instructions.
    2. Heat the oil in a small frying pan. Fry the pancetta for 2 minutes until golden.
    3. Stir in the shallot and garlic for 1 minute.
    4. In a medium sized mixing bowl, whisk the cream, pamesan and egg yolks.
    5. Drain the tagliatelle and return it to the pan. Remove the pan from the heat.
    6. Stir the pancetta and egg mixture into the pasta for 2 minutes. Serve.

I don't put the shallot or garlic in as 1) my husband doesn't do onions and 2) we tried it with the garlic but didn't like it. Sometimes I use another cheese but for the life of me can't remember the name of it and sometimes add chicken too. I also find you don't need the olive oil to cook the pancetta in as if you start it off on a low heat enough fat comes out of the pancetta to cook itself in. Also I double up the ingredients cos I make it for two although even then it's never exact measurements.

Thanks, although as Kaz said its very similar to the Jamie Oliver one which I used and I followed it exact, with the exception of the courgettes. Don't really know what went wrong with it, just tasted a bit bland to us, the only nice thing in it was the garlic cooked bacon :rotfl:
Nevermind at least my 'stew' last night turned out good :T

I have a HUGE confession to make, my £15 from Alba science went on a BS order - just couldn't resist it, so that came this morning.

    So have many INs -

Coconut mini gift cube - might give as a gift (although no-one's birthdays are until next year now!)

    Seaweed skin care gift set

Facial brush (didnt realise how tiny it would be!)

    and the freebies....

    Olive Body Butter

    Satsuma Shower gel

    Strawberry Body Puree

*slinks off to the naughty step*

On a different note, after mentioning yesterday OHs work is going to be in a book, he had a phonecall this morning from someone else saying they want his work on next years design calander! He doesn't know what month it will be yet but I imagine due to the one they want it will probably be a summer month :p So happy for him - he really is one lucky sod. Knew I was onto a winner :p

Postie has just been and bought me more freebies - free perfume sample and also another t-shirt, no idea why theyve sent another one though but shant complain....

The perfume sample is Comme des Garcons - only a little tiny spray vial but it doesnt smell too bad, kind of like lavander. If anyone else is interested the link to the thread is here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3183886
but the original one doesnt seem to be avaliable to the UK anymore which is the one I ordered but the second one "wonderwood" is so Ive sent off for that one too :)

  • Pickle, I've got the Clean On Me and the Wash Almighty too - the Clean On Me is at my parents' house and I only use it every couple of months so it'll probably last me five years! Haven't dared to start the Wash Almighty yet!

That's really awesome for your OH Charlie!

Managed to use up my Lush Gumback Express Exfoliating Shower Smoothie this morning. Probably wouldn't buy it again, it was a nice scrub but there are nicer ones out there - such as The Breakfast Scrub and Lush's solid sugar scrubs. Also finished off my mini Clinique Moisture Surge last night.

Must confess to some INs - ordered some Soap & Glory Sit Tight and Scrub of Your Life as they were 1/3 off from Boots.

er have I strayed onto a cooking thread?:rotfl:I love Jamies cabonarra too:),will have to look out other Jamies as had some good ones from his books.note to self do go to his restauraunt soon(never been as always big queues to get in:(
Everyone has to eat ;):p:D. I did think it may be slightly OT though when I was posting it haha!
You should try Jamies minced beef wellington. Though I would recommend that you don't expect to eat it all in one evening even with your DS home. It's a monster and so very very filling. I recommend getting one of the spermarket own brands of pastry though because they are longer than the jusroll stuff. I think Asda's was the best though as it was wrapped in greaseproof paper which made it easier to roll and I cooked the JOMBW on it which saved pan cleaning time. Will do again in the future.

DH tweaked the recipe. You do need the courgettes or something though because they soak up the bacony taste and add a little extra oomph. I'm pleased that your stew was nice. I love stew because it is so economical. I can't make dumplings at all. That's DH's job. When I went to see my sister last October we had stew and we both said at the same time "You have to make the dumplings 'cause I can't cook them!" We made her OH make them (think Northern builder does not do domestic chores at all type bloke). He was a little surprised to walk into the kitchen and be confronted by 2 of us handing him the stuff but he did it and they were lovely :D.

My poor poor DS said last night that he had a lump on his bottom gum by his new filling. Had a look and could see the lump but nothing else. Had another look after his story and could definately see puss :(. Then this morning he came in and said that the other emergency filling he had done on Friday had a lump above it. Managed to get him into the dentist at 10.30. He was surprised and had a good old rummage. Poor DS has 2 abscesses, either side and top and bottom. Dentist said it was very unusual and that he hadn't had problems putting the fillings in. So 3 days of antibiotics and then back on Monday hopefully to get it checked, old fillings scooped out and numbed tooth then new fillings added .
As we were on our way in, DS said "Mum, I'm a bit tired, I might have a little sleep in the chair" :rotfl:.
I feel bad though, I have no idea why my kids teeth are so terrible. Apparently, DH's were bad as a child but I didn't get a filling until after I had DS. I ate plenty of calcium when pregnant and they have lots of calcium in their diet. They both have electric toothbrushes and are supervised brushing teeth.
One dentist seemed to think that it was because the teeth are at the end of their life. DS is 7.5 and has only lost 4 teeth but his baby teeth are almost worn out now.
    I despair. Poor little devils.

The Clean on Me took me a month to UU and that was me pumping about 10 shots onto a puff every morning! I have put the pump into the Calm one Calm all bubble bath to use as a showergel and I have a wash almighty plus half a dozen or so BS shower gels. This is why I am now also decanting them into handwash bottles!

I also had my BS order arrive yesterday so sweet lemon hand duo (like I needed it, but it looks lush) passionfruit facewash, shea whip lotion, cocoabutter BB, coconut showergel (nuff said) and animal soaps (for the kids).

Oh Bev! Poor you - no wonder you're feeling fed up with trying to please everyone! I can't imagine why on earth any reputable careers advisor would tell someone they are "unemployable" - if they think that then the fault is theirs, not yours! It's all well and good your DH giving you a hard time about not working, but he needs to accept that if you're not in the house all day, every day, then he will have to chip in and help around the house, with the kids etc. I do everything that needs doing here on the days I'm not "out" at work, but on the days I am then MrEH knows he will have to help out too. How about finding your local paper and seeing if there is anything part-time in there you could apply for, and then asking the careers advisor for tips on how best to get around the inevitable "what jobs have you had over the past few years" question at any interviews, plus tips on improving a CV that you're obviously unhappy with? On the subject of the CV - remember that it should be clear and easy to read - no fancy fonts or varying sizes. Highlight your personal details at the top in bold, but not in colour or by putting them in a box. keep it concise, but without being abrupt or skimping on detail that you feel needs to be in there. Oh, and don't listen to anyone who says it needs to fit on a single sheet of A4 - 2 pages is fine for a "regular" job - if you come across well enough on the first page nobody will have any problem with reading onto a page 2! Don't waffle, but equally don't be afraid to use a little humour but keep it to your "personal" section. (Mine used to include Organising a large local beer festival - wrapped up with the line "thus I have firm proof that I am indeed capable of organising the proverbial in a brewery, and much more besides!").

Thanks for your advice EH it really gave me a boost before my appointment this morning. I feel so much better now. The advisor I spoke to was much more professional than the last one and really had some great ideas, advice and contacts. I'm looking into a City and Guilds IT course tomorrow to update my computing skills (basically to update my existing skills) and then hopefully sending my details to a local agency for some temping work. Still need to look into just typing courses though -need to know what my wpm speed is.
I have also been put in touch with a local voluntary group to help out there. I've ammended my CV (it was a bit dull) and sent it back to the advisor who is going to tweak it further. She was so encouraging and said I wouldn't have a problem finding something. :j
Dreading DH coming home - might not tell him much, don't want him to dampen my spirits. Don't know how he is going to take all this change but it is tough - my "career break" is officially over. I'm sure one of these different avenues will lead me somewhere (*fingers crossed*)
Now... going to shop in my stash to celebrate.:T
