Please can I join in this late??
I keep meaning to stop buying toiletries but there are so many offers around at the moment, I need some willpower and some moral support.
Its only the 6th May and I have already used up a £5 off a 20 spend in BOOTS (buying their lovely new Champneys stuff) and just given in to the urge to spend money at the Body shop...and ended up spending £20...so thats £40 this month aleady! I justified it to myself as it is my Birthday on the 5th May so it was my "present to myself" NOOOO this is all wrong!
Ive even started to get stuff delivered to work rather than home and it is all stashed in my office, and the fire officer came in this morning and was joking (I hope) that my office was becoming a fire risk with all the boxes piled up in the corner!!!!!
Are their any tips for resisting temptation???? I really feel this is becoming a bit of an obsession...too many good offers around.0 -
Happy birthday (belated!) and welcome to the thread Maggirl
I'm not even tempted enough by the BS glitch to go and take a look. Hmmm. Am I ill?! :rotfl:🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

A UU:
Avon Watermelon footscrub- WIBA? It was nice but nothing beats a pumice stone. I've come to realise that scrubby things are a waste if you have a body brush/flannel/pumice stone/exfoliating gloves. I think I only have one scrubby thing left now and that's a small Mango body scrub (60ml I think) and i'll pop that in my gym bag so hopefully it'll be used up in no time at all.0 -
Welcome maggirl & happy belated birthday
I know I've forgotten to welcome others, so excuse my rudeness please and welcome all to the thread
Another IN: L'Oreal Gentle Eye Makeup Remover as recommended on the thread. It was essential though (so not *unnecessary* spending), as I can't find my mini Clinique one from G magazine (somewhere on my desk at work under loads of paper??) and so I've been using wipes. Bought it at Sainsburys as I recalled someone saying their's was the best price atm (£2.33 - does that sound alright?). Will see how I get on with it, the Clinique Lids, Lips & Lashes one is my HG so will see how it compares.
Not bought from the BS [STRIKE]yet[/STRIKE] as was only ol via mobile last night and couldn't get deal to workNo buying unnecessary toiletries/makeup in May: Unnecessary spend £17.60

So they're my only outs but i'm pleased I have no INs:j0 -

Me too! Perhaps it's the freebie body butter that's satisfied my cravings for now.
Welcome to all the newbies
Used up the last of my Lush Pied de Pepper Foot Lotion last night. WBA but not just yet as it's more of a winter foot lotion. I only have one foot lotion left in my stash now :j
Also managed to inadvertently UU a sample size Lush Angel's Delight soap this morning - was washing my hands and the soap slipped and went flying right into the toilet :rotfl:Sealed Pot Challenge Number 1225

Welcome Maggirl.
Eh - don't be frightened of the Benetint, I cannot praise it enough, one bottle lasts me a year and gives the most natural rosy glow EVER. It is a stain and doesn't wear off but comes off easily with cleanser, just do about three slashes across the apple of your cheek and blend with fingertip, can do another coat if you need to, it gives that just been out for a bracing walk look - faaaaabulous.
Been to Boots this morning and all I got was the AC Magazine. Haven't been tempted by the BS glitch at all, there will be another when I do really need something. Did get the Instyle mag yesterday with the Teal polish, I read this mag from time to time and as I only own 12 nail polishes I thought that was OK.The devil makes works for idle hands0 -
Happy Friday all!
Am just nipping in as a distraction from the Body Shop glitch!! Even though I resisted last night, I'm soooooooooo bored at work with nothing to do that I'm debating just having a little look... Must resist!! Unless they'll selling my favourites for pennies I do not need them!!!! :rotfl:
I have been very good this week spending wise generally - bought £8 worth of food from Tesco on Monday to leave at work and have been making my own sandwiches each day etc, so have spent nothing else each day - seeing as I'm a terror for nipping down to the canteen/ship for cola and chocolate at least twice a day normally, I end up spending a fortune so quite proud of myself- but I think perhaps this is part of the problem - I now have a bit of a spending twitch that needs satisfying, hence the BS temptation!! Maybe I should allow myself a bottle of cola this afternoon - it'll be cheaper than another set of body butters!
While I'm here, some UU to report;
Loreal Gentle eye makeup remover - WIBA yes, although I have a No7 one to use up first, then I'm going to attempt to see how I get on removing my eyemakeup with my Liz Earle C&P - I think it's done a pretty good job in the past and as it's not my HG cleanser, if it can remove the need for a separate eye makeup remover that'd be perfect!
I can also confirm the clinique toners have been binned. I did actually UU the final dregs of one as it was so close and then I felt less guilty of binning the others - there was only about 30ml in one and 15ml in the other so not much to lose. Have liberated the Lancome Douceur toner from the stash - am tempted to pull out the matching cleanser just to give them a good go together as I've never used Lancome skincare before so might be a good trial.0 -
Well.....I had an exam for work today in town....Then had to walk through town and try resist the stores...I did well. Avoiding Bodyshop, Boots, Debenhams, all the makeup and toiletries. :j
Then I got to the Pandora store *gulp* and bought a charm, which was more than I would have spent on toiletries!!!:rotfl:0
