That drives me nuts. DS is always doing it. I give him a pile of clean washing and tell him to take it to his room to put away. He takes it to his room and puts it on the floor. Later, when I tell him to get all the dirty clothes out of his room and put them in the laundry basket, he includes all clothes that are on the floor, even if they are not only clean but still folded!
Anyway, tonight I am thankful for:
1) Lovely friends I spent time with today.
2) Having a house, laundry basket, washing machine, and indeed children at all, even if they don't always do what I'd like!
3) My house still being in one piece - checked for roof tiles being damaged or missing when I got home from the school run, and everything seemed to be where it ought to be.
4) Chocolate cake (cooked by somebody else) that somebody gave me a slice of.
5) Alchemilla and skinty for posting, and Alchemilla, gally, MCI, MWC, pink poppy, skinty and Tilly for thanking. :wave:Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Morning Lois, your post made me laugh. My lovely DS used to do this with his washing and it drove me NUTS
I decided to stop doing his washing and ironing:o.
There were a couple of days when I was embarrassed at the state of his school shirt but after two weeks, he came home and 'had a chat with me'. I did almost have to sit on my hands, but now his clean stuff gets put away and dirty laundry, 85% of the time, in the laundry basket.
Not sure I'd recommend this approach though, as the Stig of the Dump look isn't good.

Is 38 to young, as I have a BF that can't seem to get chewing gum in the bin and likes to leave little balls of it around the house, sometimes even on the kitchen worktop near the binMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Half term at last!
Didn't bother going to bed early last night, thinking it didn't matter, because nothing in particular to get up for this morning. Woke up this morning at 8:22 anyway. I mean, I know that's later than on a school morning, but it's not exactly a magnificent lie-in, is it? Couldn't get back to sleep, and now I have a headache, which I usually only get when I haven't had enough sleep. So what's that about, then?
I can't get too cross with DS about the clothes, because he is actually very helpful about some other things around the house. I certainly wouldn't dare stop doing his laundry - he might withdraw his labour from the things he does to help, and then I'd be in trouble!! Radish, I think something needs to be done urgently about the BF chewing gum problem. That's not something you should have to clear up, however delightful he is in other ways (as I'm sure he is, or you wouldn't have picked him). Not sure what tactics to recommend, though.

Morning everyone.
Credit card statement has arrived yesterday - need to check everything off against the spreadsheet and put it safely in the file. Bank account looking reasonably healthy, which is good, because the DD for the CC is going to be big this month - replaced an expensive household item AND paid annual breakdown cover as well as all the usual household spending.
This morning I am thankful for
1) Half term!!
2) Blue sky and strange yellow thing in it that I can see out of my window
3) House still in one piece
4) Nice lazy time last night watching TV with DD and discussing what we saw
