Just been there. V exciting. :D

So, it turns out the money from E.on is not a mistake. It was allocated to my account when I switched in August 2009, but they never actioned the payment. I was in the middle of a nasty situation with X at the time and chasing up the final bill from E.on slipped through the net. Anyway, somebody at E.on has been going through accounts and sorting out all the people who were owed money ages ago and never got it, so they sent me a letter (to my old address, so I didn't get it) and some money (to my old current account, which was mercifully still open although empty and not really being used). The person on the phone was very helpful, and is going to get another copy of the letter sent out to my address where I am now.

It would be nice to use the money to OP a bit more, but I am aware that it is a refund on a bill and the "savings and bills" pot is perilously low, so I am putting most of it in there. Have paid another £25 off FL1, though. Meanwhile, the money going into the "savings and bills" pot has got my Santandr 123 back up over the £3k mark, so back to earning 3%. :)

    Off to update sig. :)

Very spendy day today - new glasses for DS with expensive lenses  But he needs them, so there's nothing I can do about that.

    NSD yesterday though. :)

Feel your pain, my glasses are so expensive, it's always the lenses. Have to get the lenses thinned down or the legs won't close! :rotfl:

Have recently come back to the MSE fold and am popping in to say hello. I remember reading your diary last time I was on here and I look forward to following it again.

Take care and congrats on all the progress that you've made!

    Thank you catshark.

Thank you also to Alchemilla, Calfuray, pink poppy, Squirrel and skinty for thanking.

    Tonight I am grateful for
    1) Not having any marking to do this evening - had a snooze instead. :)
    2) Warm dry house when it is tipping it down outside AGAIN.
    3) My brother being helpful and having a nice phone call with me.
    4) My dad helping to pay for DS's glasses.
    5) DS helping with the cooking this evening.

Lovely list Lois, but my vote goes for:

This evening I am grateful for

    1) A rare moment of self discipline in which I got all my tonight's pile of marking done before beginning watching TV so I could feel guilt-free while watching it. :)
    2) Neither DS nor DD wanting help with homework this evening. :)
    3) Not long to go now until half term - there is light at the end of the tunnel. :D
    4) Gally, ICTD and teapot for posting
    5) catshark, Gally, ICTD, MCI, Pearla, pink poppy, QBW, Radish, skinty and Tilly for thanking
