Oooh, I've never been on a "thankful for" list before!!

This has been an odd term for parents too. Kids have only just gone back and I'm already looking forward to half term. Must be the weather!

Well, I'll put you on another one then! This evening I am grateful for

    1) Not living in a flood zone - :( for those who are.
    2) Not having any work to do this weekend - although I had to stay at work until 7pm to get enough finished to be able to leave it all there.
    3) No need to get up for anything at a particular time tomorrow. :D
    4) One of my classes having done better than expected in a test today.
    5) catshark for posting  and Cal, MWC, Pearla, pink poppy, Radish and Tilly for thanking

V tired tonight - the aforementioned work, plus DS and DD squabbling more than usual, plus a letter saying that a situation I thought was sorted is in fact still under discussion, and that therefore I may end up having to deal with something by myself that I thought I was going to have help with. Sorry to be vague but it's not something I can go into details about on a public forum.

Need sleep. Actually, make that chocolate followed by sleep. :)

    I HATE Excel.

  • Morning Lois, hope you have a relaxing weekend. Completely agree about all the folk in flood areas, it must be a nightmare to live through at the moment.

    Best wishes Tilly

Hugs Cal. It sounds as though it doesn't like you much either. :(

I find that usually when I have an Excel problem, googling it quickly brings up a forum somewhere where somebody else has posted a solution to a similar problem. It's saved me no end of time not having to solve problems myself. :)

Yes thanks. That yellow thing made a brief appearance in the sky and I went for a walk. Must do that more often - really don't do it enough. :o

This evening I am thankful for:
    1) The yellow thing and the walk. :j
    2) Not having any marking to do this evening. :D
    3) Friends I'm going to be seeing tomorrow. :)
    4) Family member who's been ill getting better. :)
    5) Cal and Tilly for posting, and Alchemilla, Cal, ed, Pearla, pink poppy, Radish, skinty, gally and teapot for thanking.

    Grrrr!

I came into the living room this evening and reminded DD that she's not allowed to make mess in there, so she'd better pause the TV and take her 4 apple cores out to throw away. I was quite impressed that she took them away immediately and quite cheerfully ... until I left the room later and realised she'd only taken them as far as the dining table. I went back in and told her they were supposed to go all the way to the food caddy in the kitchen, and she flounced off in a huff to take the to the kitchen ... where she put them, not inside the food caddy, but on top of it. I mean, once you've gone to the kitchen and found the caddy, what is so hard about opening the lid????

My son has the same problem with dirty clothes and laundry basket - apparently on it or near it are just as good as in it...

Mine do that too. I don't mind that so much. Partly because I don't mind moving clothes a few feet as much as I mind moving other people's apple cores etc, and partly because if the clothes are on the floor next to the laundry basket, at least I don't have to venture into the kids' rooms to find it, and I won't have them in a panic with nothing to wear because I didn't have it to wash. :rotfl:

Hmmm. Perhaps I should start expecting more of them. After all, there isn't any real reason why they shouldn't put them actually inside the basket...
