  • Hi there,

I'm planning to apply for a Citybank account. My question is, as they only have branches in London and I am a long way from London, are there sister banks that you can use as a branch locally?

Also, has anyone actually been refused the Citybank account? If so, why?

    Many thanks

    Richard

You can use Lloyds TSB for your day to day banking ie paying in cheques and cash etc.

The only down side is that cash takes 3 days to clear.

I don't know of anyone who has yet been turned down so fingers crossed!
  • Thanks for the reply, that is useful. I will apply for the account later today.

3 days for cash to clear! Oh my god, and I thought Halifax were bad with cheques.

  • What a useful post. Thank you very much. I've just opened a NatWest account for my ebay buying and selling, really simple and easy to do on line.

    Many thanks again.

    4 Days actually :)

Better bet is if you have another account with another bank, just pay in the cash there, then using internet banking BACS transfer it over and it will only take 3 Days.

That's what I have been doing.
