    bit of a contradiction deepandcalm.

"yorkshire do a full credit check"

"and yes this was a readycash account, its not scored"

Surely you are saying 2 different things. I opened mine in Feb/March and there was no credit check
  • no they manually check your file as recorded on my experian file , but they do not score you.

They want to make sure what you say is what is on your file, i know this because they showed me and asked me a very specific question about its contents.

They may have done it with the computer turned away from you or maybe the system has changed in the past month or so.

I think it must have been changed, as all they did with me was an address check to check i was on the roll

If CB = Clydesdale Bank then opening an account with Yorkshire Bank may not be a wise option.

Yorkshire Bank and Clydesdale Bank are part of the same financial group and they will have a right of offset within their T&C which you no doubt signed on your CB Credit Card.

So you risk loosing whatever money is paid into your new Yorkshire Bank account if your two accounts are linked in the future.

Probably won't happen, but when dealing with debt you are advised to open an account with a financial organisation that you do not have ties with.

Thanks for the info - as per PM, Clydesdale actually passed the balance onto a Debt Collection company and ive repaid more or less the whole balance to them directly - there is still a balance to be paid however...would Clydesdale be able to claim this even though they passed on the debt ?

    Anyone know ?

Glasgow Council Credit Union – providing services to public sector employees in Glasgow
Hull and East Yorkshire Credit Union – providing services to people living or working in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire
Leeds City Credit Union – providing services to people living or working in Leeds
Scottish Postal Workers Credit Union – providing services to postal workers across Scotland

Southwark Credit Union – providing services to people living or working in the London borough of Southwark

White Rose Credit Union – providing services to people living or working in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

If you look on the abcul website or google them you should find contact details.

I have a credit union current account with voyager credit union. I have a visa debit card and can set up DD & SO but the only downfall is no internet access to the account.

I was wonder why this credit union current account is for transport employees only. Just curious...

I thought it would be open to anyone.

How is money deposited into the account?

According to the website it says:

Voyager Alliance Credit Union is a not for profit organisation, offering financial services to the passenger transport industry in England and Wales. Membership is open to passenger transport employees in England and Wales and their family members who live in the same household.
