    Hi,

This is my first time posting so i apologise if its all worded wrong...

I have finally after 18 months of my uncle supposidly sorting out my debt (basically he got all letters sent to his house and ignored them!! leaving me luckily with only 3 defaults!!),i decided to speak to payplan with regards to sorting my 25k worth of debt out. But as i have both BOS & Halifax credit card (i have my current account with halifax) payplan have advised me that they do not think it is a good idea for them to get in touch with HBOS regarding my credit cards until i have opened a new account and they know my salary is safe. makes sense to me until...

I applied for Lloyds Tsb, Abbey and natwest basic cash account (an account for a 15 year old is exactly what i asked for) Lloyds and Abbey turned me down flat, but natwest agreed to open the account for me and sent me all the details and advised card would arrive within 5 days, Only for 3 days later me to recieve a letter from them advising me that i did not meet their criteria and the account was now closed!! when i phoned them they told me i would need to go into the branch and discuss it with them.

So i did, and got told by the guy i spoke to that there was nothing they would do but to apply again. This got instantly declined on the basis on my credit search, ( i was honest with them told them i was in arrears with everything and told them i was trying to sort myself out with payplans DMP) but they basically said TOUGH!!

I really want to get all my payplan dmp rolling but without another bank account i am stuck....

Can anyone advise how i am suppose to sort this out when NO banks seem to want to help.. i am not asking for credit facilities just being able to have standing orders and direct debits set up, i am asking for cash card not A debit card, NO OVERDRAFT AND NO CHEQUE BOOK... WHERE IS THE PROBLEM!! i am getting so frustrated with this as i seem to be stuck and hit a brick wall.

i have just read about citibank so will try them... fingers crossed... if this doesnt work any others ideas would be gratefully recieved

    thanks

Yorkshire bank or Clydesdale bank readycash account is what you need. You can only apply in a branch though comes with a maestro to.

Based on what you've said I would imagine Citi will turn you down.
See my post above. The first post in this thread has not been changed since January and the info on Citi is out of date. Should be amended really as so many people have applied for it based on that but the info isn't current.
    Good Luck

i think going by what others say, you need to be upfront with them, and make the clear that it is the readycash account that you want - not the other types of current account. As long as you do that, and are upfront about any problems you have with your "credit report" then you should be fine.

come back tomorrow and let us know how it goes eh ?

No they dont mate , just an address check so I think you will have to be on the electoral roll. just make it clear you only want the readycash not the full account.
  • Thanks for the info guys, hopefully it'll be ok...let you know tomorrow night
  • yorkshire do a full credit check, well at least they did for me.

asked me to confirm details of what they saw on the screen...
  • and yes this was a readycash account, its not scored, but they still check now. Opening the account seems to be at the managers discretion.

I opened the account in March, electoral register and bankruptcy check only, has it changed?

Great basic account and really good customer service.
