Thanks for the info on basic bank accounts. I am just about the start claiming for £656 from RBS but my account has a £2000 o/draft and I was worried that it would be closed down and they might demand the money. This way if i get the £500 and also the £500 o/draft money from the citi account then i am closer to clearing it. Then once i get into the swing of this claiming I will also claim from my credit cards and use this money to clear it.
I just have to hope that my application is accepted, it appeared to be so as the link said they would send my the documentation to sign.
Now on my way to claiming and being debt free0 -
Most overdrafts are re-payable on demand. Most credit cards are not unless you default. Bear it in mind.0

Halifax Cardcash did but their new Easycash doesn't. Natwest step account doesn't. Cooperative are just starting to report all conduct to Experian but I do not know of that inlcudes Cashminder - it should of course but you never can tell. HSBC might do now, as standard current accounts are reported back. If you want to build your credit rating a bit I'd consider opening an Abbey basic account anyway and leaving a few pounds in it - even if you never use it it will still give you a positive piece of credit history.0 -

Very quick question (I hope!) - I'm just about to send off the form for a Natwest Step account. I did it on line, and they sent through the forms, so I'm hoping that everything's going to be okay.
However, what's foxed me is that they haven't asked me to send in any i.d. I'm wondering whether they missed off a piece of paper listing what they want. Anyone know whether they do require ID to progress?
I'm assuming they do, but advice would be appreciated.
(Also, when banks ask for Passport as a form of ID, I'm assuming they are able to take a copy of the thing? Im not so keen on sending out the real thing unless absolutely necessary!)Chuffed to be member 11 on the DMP mutual support thread.

So am i right in thinking that anyone can get a yorkshire readycash account? I just don't want to bother going in there if it only means getting turned down!
Has anyone been declined and if so on what basis?0 -
Hi there,
I recently sent my step account application off.
You need to send in Id, I went to a local natwest branch, had my passport photocopied and certified and sent that in alon with a utility bill, this must be a bill and not a statement.
I also think you can send in bank statement etc.0 -
