    Hi there.........

I am thinking about applying for this account but have a really bad credit score..........do you think i should go for it?

what do i need to take in?
This is from a previous thread that I wrote.
Just opened a Yorkshire readycash account today-no problem and nice friendly branch staff who did not look down their noses because it was a basic account. I took in my driving licence and walked out with my account number. The great thing is that there is a Maetsro card the same as my First Direct card which I am going to claim charges from.
I have three CCJ's, one settled and the other two being paid off and numerous defaults.
They did not make any fuss or do a credit search just an address confirm and the advisor said that they would look at the account in 8-12 months to see if there was a posibility of upgrading, i'm not bothered at the moment.

Maestro is way better than Electron it is accpeted in more places and has not got that allegedly stigma that it is not a full debit card like the Electron. But if Electron is all that's offered go for it.

Brilliant, I might have a go tommorow. DO you think my passport and a utility bill would be any good?

Went into yorkshire all seems promising only a couple of staff about so they have arranged an appointment for monday said there wont be a problem opening it and i just need to take in my passport.
  • Applied online for the Natwest Step account, agreed in principle so that's made my day :)
  • I am interested in Citibank Sterling current account - plan to ask bank for previous bank charges back and want to have an account ready in case they close mine down, don't have a great credit history. I clicked on link to citi-bank and their website seems to state that citibank sterling current account is changing to citibank plus account with a £10 monthly fee. Not keen to pay a fee but would like a Visa debit card, otherwise the option seems to be to apply for a basic bank account with an electron card. Is my reading of this correct?
