Got my account number & sort code from Coventry Building Society. Just waiting for the card now.
  • My Coventry card arrived today, and rather snazzy it is too!! :-)

Now the next question.. Is this a "proper" visa debit card, Or just a rebadged electron a la Coop bank??

All adding little green ticks to my credit file :D
  • Try it in pay at pump.

My lloyds visa debit gives me 100 fuel whether or not I have cleared funds so it offline card.

Mt rbs (non highline) cash plus visa debit only offers me £60 subject to there being at least 60 there when it checks. This how I tell the difference unless someone can tell me I am wrong.

I believe it's a 'full authorisation' VISA debit card (aka VISA debit Electronic NOT VISA Electron). When you pay by card, it will say 'VISA debit'. Barclays, LTSB, Natwest/RBS offer these cards. Therefore, it's not an Electron.

You can check this website to see if the card number is a VISA debit or Electron: http://www.barclaycardbusiness.co.uk/docs/bin_rules_september_2009.pdf

Report back to us if it's a VISA debit or Electron after seeing that website.

Card comes under the "UK Visa DR Card" column. :)

    Nice card jsmith.

What's the first 4 digits of the card? As you know each bank is different.
