Misuse of a Blue Badge is a serious offence.
Your badge can be withdrawn if you misuse it or allow others to misuse it
It is a criminal offence for non-disabled people to use a badge. If they do so they are liable to a fine of up to £1000
It is a criminal offence to drive a vehicle displaying a Blue Badge unless the badge holder is in the vehicle, or the vehicle is being driven by someone other than the badge holder for the purpose of entering or leaving an area (which is accessible only to vehicles displaying a Blue Badge) in order to pick up or drop off the holder.

I wish motability would now clarify the use of their cars in line with this.

no they probably put the window up and pretend to be deaf.

I got so fed up a few days ago, the last bb space when OH took me shopping, some chelsea tractor takes it, she runs in shop, he is pratting about with the boot... as i go past i check for bb, none displayed, and thank him for making my journey harder so his chavy wife didn't have to walk to far to get her fags.

I think he was deaf, as he pretended not to hear me.

Unfortunately I doubt the new rules will make any difference in supermarket car parks because they're privately run (but it might where supermarkets are situated next to carparks which are council controlled).

    Why?

HRM needs tightening in cases such as obesity etc sure but how somebody uses their notability vehicle has no effect on any other disabled person what so ever, unlike blue badges which very much do.

If they were to have the same rules then for carers who are a parent or spouse then it would be more hasstle than it's worth and they would effectively be prevented from using the scheme because they would likely always need to have a second car as well anyway.
