Waiting in car removed? Care to explain this bit? The whole BB thing is still a mystery to me.
Used it for the 1st time on moday taking the olduns to weston super mud. Disabled bay in the multistory.
Didnt really help when we needed to stop at the toilets on the way into the town, No parking, No unloadng, No waiting.
NO CHOICE when she says i need the toilet as we turn onto the road by the golf club, Then less than 1 minute later she
says she needs the toilet i told you 1/2hour ago....Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

it means had will stop the space being used for waiting purposes so other blue badge holders can use the space to go about there daily business.
basic speaking is to stop( granddad who don't own a bb but its grandmas).from waiting for grandma for 3 hrs whilst she does her shopping whilst granddad reads the paper in the bb space, when he should arrange a time to pick her up , he should wait in a normal space until close to pick up time then get a bb space for her to get back in.
EDIT: forgot to say it would be already against the rules for granddad to use grandmas badge for his own purposes i:e nipping in quick to get his daily rag and fags whilst grandma waves her badge at other bb holders who need the space
obviously nipping in for 2 mins or so will be considered if questioned by a warden to see the badge
LOL i think i just got it peeing AND WAITING lol0 -
pwales, it would be worth sending a message to the Forum Team to ask why your post was edited, it does seem rather strange. I can understand why you are upset, I actually think editing a post is worse than deleting it - the latter simply means that your comments disappear, whereas the former distorts what you said. Let us know if you get an answer.Gone ... or have I?0

Click on the Report button, and you can send them a message from there. Don't worry about it being mainly for abuse reports, it will go through to the right people.Gone ... or have I?0

OK.. so if i take my MIL to the opticians i cannot wait outside with the car. But i can leave it and
go and do my own shopping? One of those things that will always be flawed i guess.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
But their use does affect other disabled people, the familes who use their mobility car to get dad to work while claiming help transporting disabled kid to school (read the forum this has happened) are taking away resources from an already stretched funding source.
Having a mobility car should remove all entitlement to any other mobility scheme, kids should be taken to school in their mobility car, disabled people should travel to hospital in their car etc.
There are too many people IRL and on these boards who use the mobility car for various non disabled related things and expect grants and all sorts for transporting a disabled person on top of this, it has to stop.
I would agree in principle when it comes to regular use but, as usual, there are going to be times when things go wrong. Thinking particularly of my late BIL who had a 40 mile trip each way for dialysis - started driving himself but as he deteriorated became more and more reliant on hospital drivers. What happens, for instance, if the disabled person is reliant on a carer to drive them to get dialysis twice a week and is let down and can't find a replacement? If all the DLA has gone on the car then finding a huge taxi fare isn't feasible so community transport would be a welcome support. Some leeway would probably be sensible.Eat food. Not too much. Leeway for medical reasons certainly, leeway so that a family member can basically use the car as their own and to hell with the disabled person certainly not.0

I have just applied to KCC for a blue badge - as a brand-new application.
I do not drive, but used to until so dodgy, and issued with bus ticket, but Carer does; now, if my legs are achy, etc, is Brian allowed to pop into TESCO whilst I rest in the car? Or do we both have to both go in?
:-)Sadly out-of-work due to a kerfuffle with my health, and now a self-employed Telegraph-reading, Radio 3-listening tea-drinker with the knowledge of every postcode from Dartford to Dumbarton (Asperger's), and walk like Pingu.
Debt letters decorate my shredder very nicely, thank-you! Credit Rating: 278; Defaults: 7, since 2008 :cool:0
