    Brilliant going everyone.

Deccies went up on time last night. I am really pleased with that. Todays task is to clear away all the stuff left over and clean the bathroom and kitchen.

    Aaaagh,

Keep having to tell myself I am not behind, like Flylady does!

Didn't finish the card labels, must do so tonight!!!

But did clear the hall and landing of assorted bags of presents and decs.

Also managed a load of washing, although ds' best shirt still has brown (beer?) stains on it, faded though so I'm hopeful I'll manage to get it out completely.

    Also swished the bathroom.

Went home at lunchtime and cut greenery from the garden to deck the mantels and staircase so will put them up when I get home.

just come in to boast about the amazing day i have had. i was nosing around on flylady, and took to heart her sentiment that you cannot organise clutter. ive thrown out stuff ive hung onto for years. i even ventured into the loft  :D

perhaps my biggest achievement is being brave enough to admit that i will probably never get around to ebaying the growing pile of stuff set aside for such a purpose...so have bagged it all up for the chairty shop. it feels like such a release

have some more tidying to do, and then i am going to settle down to read some of the selling books on amazon threads :j

    I've been Money Tipped!
I still haven't done a list! but I am reading all the posts on here and taking ideas from everyone elses lists, hope you don't mind?

Today I defrosted and cleaned the upright freezer and sorted out the chest freezer.

I also managed to pot up 5 jars of mincemeat so just have the mincemeat pies to do.

I have only written about a dozen cards so far so that's on the list.

Oh heck so much to do and so little time!

I've made a start. And I've decided to stop. I defrosted and cleaned out the freezer, Mr tru didn't close it properly last night so it's all full of ice again  I've been getting madder and madder since lunchtime (when I noticed it was slightly open), if he doesn't come home from work soon I'll have exploded before he gets here and he won't see the full effect of my [strike]madness[/strike] anger.

one thing ive found when decluttering is that carrier bags are better than black bags ;)

a carrier is your friend. he is small, and easy to fill... much smaller and easier to fill than a binbag. if you set yourself the challenge of getting rid of a bag of rubbish/clutter (be it to the bin/charity/to be recycled ) it is much easier to fill a small bag. the task feels less daunting, and emotionally you dont feel like you are parting with so much stuff.

usually, by the time you have filled your carrier, you are in the swing of things, and before you know it, you have a binbag equivilent's worth of stuff to chuck/re-home/ recycle

Pavlovsdog you are right about using a smaller bag. It helps with the 'baby steps', doesn't stress you out as much either if you're new to decluttering and are a bit reluctant to let some stuff go. Hugs to you, you are doing so well.
