Hi, Moggins and other Flyers :j
Please, please, pretty please, can I jointomorrow???
I have a busy day today, raising a festive glass with my w*** mates, wearing a ridiculous hat and lauging at S's dreadful jokes, pretending I enjoy mass-catered sprouts, having another glass of something festive, and not winning a prize for the 5th year running in the raffle.
After that 6 days off, so I intend to spend the next 3 doing whatever Moggins tells me. No time yet to read the thread, but saw a mention of dinign room.

I REALLY need to get on with DD's doll's house. It dawned on me around 4am this morning (I woke up wide awake, bolt upright in bed going  ) that with DD breaking up on the 20th that gives me just 11 school days to get the house finished _pale_ I have to go and post ebay parcels today, so I don't know whether I will get around to doing more painting or not. I think I will come home from the school run, do a coat of paint on what needs it then go to the post office while the paint dries. I don't even remember where I am upto
Best get a move on though as I need to do my daily flying before the school run now

gosh- i'm finding it really hard to even come up with the list of what i need to do, let alone get it done. My head wouldn't stop whirring last night when it was time to sleep, so i need to do something to stop the lists in my head.
I cooked tonights meal last night while baby was being good. so that may free up a little time today for some other bits.
1) strip our bed
2) put new bedding on, wash set taken off.
3) check airers, turn clothes over/deal with dry ones.
4) empty bathroom bin
5) deal with clutter on coffee table
6) take my old dresses to show sister, let her choose what she wants, then charity shop the rest. I'm now too old/sensible to wear them now (also too fat) whereas she has put on weight and they'd fit her. Time to say good bye and move on.
7) put away yesterdays washing up
8) deal with post
9) make sure i have a shopping list/to do list for DH's day off tomorrow. and baby bag is packed for a quick get away to appointments and shops.
10) clear some of the ironing pile
that should get me through the day and i'll try to deal with stuff as i see it.

Hello, can I join in please? I don't go out to work (I do some work from home though and from Jan will be doing far more) but am pretty busy usually and our 5-bed 3-bath 5 person home gets pretty dirty and untidy. My husband has just gone away this morning for 48 hours so I'm going to devote some time to the house before he gets back. He works from home too so I don't get much 'empty house' time to clean floors and do, err, big jobs, so to speak!
My tasks for today as to clean the kitchen and utility room floors. I can't do the downstairs bathroom as it's filled with our old washing machine which someone is coming at the weekend to take away. Together with the ironing board and two drying racks there isn't room to swing a mouse. Our dishwasher died overnight due to repeated power surges and cuts, fusing a load of other circuits in the process, but as DH has just gone away it will be a couple of days before he can look at it and (knowing him!) mend it. It's 15 years old so maybe its time has come. That means washing up by hand, fancy! Maybe today's not the day for a cook-in as I had planned. I think I'll do the floors and some washing & ironing then sort out the Christmas bitsIf you can't be a good example, be a dire warning

Buy said Xmas gifts
Sort out two secret santa things I'm doing
Write Essay for my course

In Progress:
Pack up and post off three parcels (yay, earnings from eBay & Amazon)
Load/unload the dishwasher umpteen times
Wipe down kitchen surfaces
Done:
Clean the sink
De-scale loo - DONE but will probably need re-doing for the umpteenth time. Humpfh
Organise under-sink cupboard - DONE
Bleach random dusters/cloths - DONE
Clean icky grillpan - DONE
Clean the stove & oven - DONE

Also, priority for today...sort myself out and look nice because I have to go out for dinner and meet my husband's colleagues for the first time. :eek:0 -
Hi,
Plans for this evening are to decorate the tree and finish typing in all the names and addresses for Christmas Card labels (half done).
Also will continue to go through my pile of Good Food and Home decorating mags to cut out recipes or colour schemes, ideas that appeal, Then I can bin the mags.
I do wish I didn't have to earn a crust, w**k gets in the way of everything!0 -
Have just got around to putting some cherries in brandy ready for making into alcoholic sweeties
Get to drink the cherry flavoured brandy later too!
So far I have made up the spice mix for making speculaas cookies for St Nicholas Day (today) if recipe works out ok will make these for Christmas. Does anyone else practise recipes for Christmas? It does help to take a bit of stress out of the holiday.
Must work on getting the ironing pile down today so will watch Wonderful Life while I iron, thanks for the reminder Moggins :T , it has been sitting on my video shelf for a while now.
Halfway through a fluffy scarf so hope to do a bit more today.
Wrap some of dd's pressies before she pops home.:D
Write some more cards.
Good luck everyone!
