I was the 18th member at our local freecycle!! There are now almost 3000.. I LOVE freecycle.. but I love ebay more.. it gives cashback!! I also pass a lot on to the 9 charity shops just round the corner from me so at least they can benefit from my flinging. Before we moved last year we deposited 200 binbags of stuff at the charity shop.. and still had more to move with!!
I can heartily recommend freecycle too!
Hex, I only have 1 child at home from 9 until 3 and she has a nap so I have no excuse really.. just don't tell my husband he hasn't cottoned onto this one yet!! lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Time to tackle the boys rooms, will get DS2s done today, want at least 3 bags of toys and rubbish out of there, porobably donate what works to school fayre/dontdumpthat/freecycle. Soem areas have https://www.dontdumpthat.com aswell which is newer than freecycle but same idea. Might even get DS1s started. They know it needs doing, loads of things they have grown out of or are broken and needs reorganising or Santa won't come. One day I might be more organised...........

Well we're going for the 'getting house ready for Xmas' in a major way so I guess I'm in!
Hubby in his wisdom decided we HAD to finish decorating the spare room in time for Christmas (it hasn't had paint, carpet, wallpaper, electrics or plaster for over 3 years, so why the hurry?). So now the whole house looks like a bomb's hit it, rather than just the spare room.
I'm aiming just to be able to keep the cooking, dishes and laundry up to date, let alone anything else so I guess this is the thread to keep me going. I'm hoping if I post my aims up I may actually stick to them!
Today's chores when we get home from work:
Cook dinner; put washing out; wash up (and put dishes away); paint skirting board and doors; start ironing so I have some clothes for work tomorrow.
Tomorrow: Food shopping; Heat dinner (2 servings made from Monday); finish ironing; try to find room in bedroom to put clothes away; bedding in wash; paint window and loft hatch if it's not too cold to have window open.
Wednesday: Move furniture from our bedroom back into spare room; dust bedroom; clean bathrooms (I've given up hoovering, essential surfaces only); cook dinner; iron bedding and put away. Possibly mop kitchen floor but no promises.
Thursday: Hubby can cook dinner and clear up; me wallpaper chimney breast. Start making curtains.
Friday: Day off work to go Christmas shopping!Buy carpet and underlay. Eating out as got to be back early for bell ringin lesson at the church. Will (try) to put hoover round for the first time in a month.
Saturday: Lay carpet and underlay, finish curtains. Washing on, make week's worth of soup and possibly mince pies. Try to get camper van started - allow at least 3 hours. Hubby can cook I think.
Sunday: VERY quick spruce up (quick dust, sweep and wipe of bathrooms). Ironing. Heat food from last night that hubby cooked.
And breathe.
OK, I'm going to print this out and stick it in my hand bag to remind me not to sit on my bum all evening!New year, no debt! Debt free date - 02/01/07 :j :j :j0 -
OKay, I'm over in the other thread as well as I want to keep my Christmas prep and my housework lists seperate. I can always get OH to help me out with the housework, hes not so keen on the christmas prep ATM. Anyways my Christmas prep list is :
Christmas Related :- Get Dad's pressie
- Make up Grandad-in-laws pressie x2
- Make up SIL/finace's pressie - household/money notebook/tips
- Address labels for cards
- Gift tags (address labels so they don't come off )
- Copy Christmas songs to MP3 player.
- WRAP PRESSIES
- Look for images to stick onto DD's dolls house (flowers, birds etc)
- Finish painting DD's dolls house.
- Sort out the furniture for DD's dolls house.
- Update Christmas Card list and sort out cards for OH to write
- ANYTHING ELSE I need to do with doll's house :rotfl:
- Line the base of DD's new-to-her desk - need to get some pink stickyback plastic or similar.
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Oooh fantastic..am also in need of a serious flat-sort out. We've spent two weeks sorting stuff out and de-cluttering, freecycling/selling on eBay lots of bits..so today is the Big Clean (we're in a teeny one-bed flat, so hopefully I'll manage it all today, with maybe a few jobs for tomorrow).

LOL pigpen, I know that feelings. Suddenly wonder why your tummy is making such strange noises and then realise, I've been up since 6am and still not managed lunch yet!
Must leave at 2.30 to pick DD1 up. DD2 is being a star today and "helping" mummy. This meant Mummy had to do the windows again but she is trying bless her!0 -
Hows everyone doing.
I have done some christmas preparations in that I've done the booze run well in advance to take advantage of the 25% off wine at Tesco. Also bought one much needed and worried about christmas present so I can cross that off the list.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
