I'[m well on my way.. I actually have motivation today..

    I have..

Baked my mother a christmas cake.
Practised mince pies with a new pastry recipe.. I will find one I can cook!
just in the middle of tidying 3 of the childrens room.. the other one is 15 and can do his own!!
I have caught up with the washing got it all put away and tidied.

I need a MAJOR flinging session though so I am up for this one. Are we doing where we want or a room a day (I have too many room to do one a week.. it would take until easter!! lol)

Right.. away I go........ I'll be back later with a progress report!

  • Hello everyone. Can I join in too?

My house is fairly small but I always feel that no matter how much I do I never get anywhere... OH is kindly doing the windows as I speak - with vinegar, although he was suspicious at first.

I'm going to have a soak in the bath (much needed) and my job for today is to empty out all the kitchen cupboards, clean, and re-organise everything - no mean feat as my kitchen is tiny... going to try and use up as much food as I can between now and Christmas - so many tins, so much pasta...

I think by writing things down here I can focus a bit better and reading about what everyone else is doing should serve as motivation!

Nothing prepared for Christmas yet either...

Dining room is now cleared ready for a deep clean before christmas, living room looks better than it did and uniforms are ironed ready for the morning.

Not bad for a Sunday but I am now calling it quits and heading for a nice soak in the bath. I may head upstairs after that and get some pressies wrapped.

I have one room that is quite scary, it's the spare bedroom and we need it sorting by the week after next as we have someone who needs to stay over.

I know where the Christmas decs are and I even found the wrapping paper etc I bought last year in the sales.

I just need a kick up the bum to get that one room sorted now.

I totally agree, am in the same boat. My spare room is an absolute tip and we have people staying at Christmas, so need to get it sorted out. Think that will have to be done on a weekend tho, as I don't have enough time during the week when I am at work.

Have never done a 'flylady' challenge, so I hope you don't mind if I join in. Flat is a tip and we are 'doing christmas' this year, so everyone will be at ours, I really want it clean and tidy and clutter free. Managed a few bits today, but then hubby asked if I wanted to go to the pub and I caved in!!

So far today I have: done (and hung up) 3 loads of washing, changed the bed sheets, cleaned out the rabbit and taken out the recycling.

Plan for tomorrow - tidy living room and give it a quick dust, with my new microfibre cloth (which I now love!), vacuum and start on the ironing. That is all after I get home from work!! Am going to be knackered, but happier!

My rooms are a tip.. and they aren't even spare!!!

We spent 3 hours tidying the girly room.. it is atrocious!!!

We filled 2 binbags fit to burst with rubbish, 4 stacking boxes of toyes and have a pile waist high of dirty laundry mixed with clean stuff, and I don't know which is which so I need to wash it all!!! There must have been 10 wet nappies from my daughter hidden in various places.

I moved the furniture around so now there is room to fit another bed in there so I can have my room back!! after 2 years of sharing with Miss Munchkin.

the boys sort of tidied their room too so it is a bit better, though they have loads of toys they need to put away and I have to vacuum it tomorrow.. but that will be 3 rooms tidied because the bathroom is ok at the moment too apart from DH needs to shift his tools out of there from his tiling.

The front room and back rooms I will tackle tomorrow if my motivation persists!!

The kitchen is almost bearable!! Just one work surface to clear which is piled 3 ft high with clothes that don't fit anyone and need to be sent elsewhere!

My cake turned out yummy.. or it at least looks and smells the part! I need to fish the pastry out of the fridge and get the mince pies made and tested though.

Has everyone else had a productive day?

  • ok i am going to join in this one too, although my deadline isnt the 25th of Dec its the 16th.

My biggest problem is that i cant turn around without my 2 little angels getting under my feet. By the time i get them into bed i just want to sit and relax but always end up trying to catch up on what i didnt get done in the day.
My other big problem is loitering on here,:o i turn the pc on and think i'll just check a,b,or c and end up lurking all day. I feel bad that i should be spending this time with the kids....

I do have some morning and bedtime routines that need polishing up, then i will work out a day by day plan to get the house sorted by 16th!
Also got DD's birthday on Friday and really need to sort something out for it...

    Good luck everyone....
