Well there's not much in the way of Christmas prep going on here. I spent yesterday either in bed or on the sofa ill with a bug thats going around  Now I've got a really sore throat and tonsils that are almost meeting  but they're taking it in turns to swell up so it's not too bad :rotfl: DD is also off ill  So somethings have HAD to go on hold until she's back at school. Had some, in a way, good news...all the events in school (Xmas fair, productions etc) have been cancelled on the advice of the local council as there is a bug going around and they want to keep the numbers of people in the local area congrigating to a minimum  So thats just freed up ALOT of time for me, as I should have probably shown my face to something like 5 events at least between now (Xmas fair was supposed to be this afternoon) and the 20th
I have got the majority of one job done but otherwise not much change on the list front.- Get Dad's pressie
- Make up Grandad-in-laws pressie x2
- Make up SIL/finace's pressie - household/money notebook/tips
- Address labels for cards - Just need one more address which I'm going to have to email about as OH forgot again!
- Gift tags (address labels so they don't come off )
- Copy Christmas songs to MP3 player.
- WRAP PRESSIES
- Look for images to stick onto dolls house (flowers, birds etc)
- [STRIKE]Update Christmas Card list and sort out cards for OH to write.[/STRIKE] I wrote them instead. He can do any that he needs for work.
- Write DD's cards with her.
- Finish painting DD's dolls house
- Varnish DD's dolls house
- Furniture for dolls house? To paint or not? Still thinking about this one.
Need to go and get some breakfast.

Hi everyone,
Well the tree is almost finished - got a few more bows to put on it. DH is off paintballing tonight so I will finish the tree, clear all the boxes out of the room and do the rest of the decs.
This weekend will hopefully bring the last of the present buying and will try to wrap them as well. I also want to get the cards written and maybe try making some mince pies with the pastry recipe on OS. Will also start getting nuts and other nibbles.
Apart from that I want to start getting the bedrooms ready for DS and DD when they come home.0 -
The weekend plans.
Get the front room sorted and the tree up and the trimmings up in the backroom to vex mmy cats.. they can't walk properly when we put trimmings up they have to walk squashed to the floor.
Con my sister into having my oldest boy go stay with her so I can get the last of the wrapping done without him interfereing and getting on my nerves.
Monday I need to make mince pies for college on Tuesday.
And at some point I will be dragged christmas shopping with my mother *wail*
Nursery nativity on Thursday.

Would you all believe I went out today and bought MY OWN CHRISTMAS PRESSIE
OKay.... I bought a book by a local author whose work I LOVE and he was doing a booksigning today so I dragged DD along who was very excited to meet him (so much so she was chanting she was going to meet him while on the bus and walking along the road) and got it signed.:j:j:j
Thing is DD was then in a fowl mood as it was all too much for her and she threw a strop in Superdrug when I stopped in to get some medicine for us  She's now in bed fast asleep and has been since 3.11pm:rotfl: or at least thats when she finally stopped crying anyway

Managed to fill a whole black bin bag with rubbish from our room! but now have room to put the pressies, until the tree is up.
Have all the goodies to make 4 hampers up, just need to make them pretty now and hide them.
Still have to do:-
blitz dd's room
Finish up the cards
Wrap all pressies
Put extra gifts into cheap crackers
Wrap some tree pressies
Make cake
Decorate cake
Clear the ironing pile
Move "happy content I am not moving away from this radiator cat" and vacumn ready for tree to go up
sure there is more to do

its scary how much you can get rid of when you are feeling ruthless
another thing that has helped me is having an attic full of junkfor years i was a serial hoarder. then i moved in with my OH and his family who are also serial hoarders. as there wasnt room for a lot of my stuff, it was put into storage up the loft. some of that stuff i know havent seen for weeks, months, and in some cases even years.
when i was up there the other day, i found nice stuff, like things from schoolbooks from 15 years ago which i dont wish to part with because they are part of my history. then i found bedding, and crockery, which is part of our 'bottom drawer' for when we get outr own place. and then i found all the stuff that i thought i could never bring myself to part with...yet there i was questioning what on earth has possessed me to pay for it in the first place  :rotfl:
probably not what flylady would advocate, but if you are a serial hoarder who cannot throw stuff out, bag/box stuff and put it in the attic. put a date on it, and go away for 6 months.
if you can come back 6 months later, not having needed it or missed it, it is safe for you to say goodbye. you dont need it, its just cluttering up the attic/basement/cupboard under the stairs.
be strong fellow flyers - it is a liberating feeling getting rid of clutter :jknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
