I knew a transexual who used to do that... :p

    Sorry....

As others said, you might be able to see where they were on the exhaust (assuming it is that).

Might also be loose generally. There should be a bit of play but not much. Give it a kick, if it bounces up and down like and enthusiastic super injunction victim then that's your answer.

    Any knocking sounds when driving?

If these lumps were part of a circle - what diameter would the circle be? Exhaust clamps rarely get above 2" diameter on a normal car and I'd be surprised by Fiesta stuff being as big as that.

Are they tube or bar (hollow or solid). What sort of diameter is the material? Exhaust clamps are usually 5/16" or 8mm.

I'd guess parts of springs from the description.

No knocking sounds, dashboard really vibrates. Feel every bump on uneven roads and CD players skips at the slightest "bump" in the road surface.

They are solid pieces of metal and look black, rather than gone rusty and dark over time. Sorry again I know nothing about cars....

Imagine a solid metal circle (hoop), but black and horse shoe > "C" shaped! i.e. not a complete circle. Each one is I'd say a 1cm thick... and if it was a complete circle, maybe 9cm in diameter?

Ride height issues? Car sitting funny? I would have thought a broken spring would be something really noticable though....

Sounds like your suspension springs have sheared, somehow, maybe?

Suspension top mount bearing is another possible...... Seem to be a common problem on the MK4 and MK5.
