    £10.68 since my last post.

£2.50 on a meal deal on Thursday - I nearly always take my own lunch, but didn't know what I wanted...not this, the sandwich was dry and horrible!
£7.35 yesterday on sweetcorn, tinned potatoes, milk and 3 x toothpaste. I had my brace fitted on Friday so stocked up on some toothpaste.
83p today on a bunch of bananas and some little gem lettuces which were reduced to 17p.

Just remember I also went to Lidl on Friday, but i've lost my receipt. I got 3 tins of soup, some yogurts and eggs so another £3.17 on my total.

Hi all, I seem to have lost track of it all at the end of the month, which is exactly what I did last month. I know I'm over (again!), but not really sure how much. I'm going to guess I spent £200 out of my £150 budget.

Having failed twice in a row, I'm going to now REDUCE my budget to £100 for this month, as I have a ridiculous amount of food in. I think I could feed a small African country, and still have enough left for the month, it's that bad.

I figure that lowering the budget should have 2 major pluses. 1, it will bring my yearly target back-ish on track, and 2, it will really make me think about what we need, as I have most stuff for meals, and could make do with the rest. I think I will need loo rolls by the time June is up, and some tissues, and the only food we should need is fruit, veg and milk, as I can make bread and have other stuff in.

I've said that before though, so watch this space!...

£100 for PennyGrabber please Mrs McC

Hi all, my month is now over so I am declaring at £103.05 which is a slight overspend of £3.05. I'm ok with that as I have been off work all last week and I thought I might go over by a bit more.

Went to t's this afternoon as I had some coupons to use up which took £10 off my shopping so really chuffed :D Stocked up on a few things I wanted and some stuff to go back to work with next - milk, yoghurts and crisps.

Mrs M can you put me down for my usual £100 for June please ?

I spent €103 in total this weekend. €7 in M&S on Friday evening and another €96 in Mr SQ on Sat (although that included €42 on wine to last a few weeks). Ooops just remembered another €11 in fishmongers - need to add that to sig in a mo.

This week is mainly from stores -
    Sunday roast was chick thighs
Mon is leftover fish with fresh tagliatelle that needs to get used up
    Tues: Chicken curry I think
    Wed: Quiche and salad
    Thurs: Pork sweet'n'sour
Fri: Burgers and oven chips or HM wedges

I have a few options to change those if my week goes wonky (and it's looking like one that might) but I think I ought to actually use up stuff this week. (And perhaps a few bottles of wine....)

    Hi everyone,

Just a quick post to let you know that the June 2011 Grocery Challenge is up an running. I'll unstick the May thread in a day or two.

Thanks as always to rosieben and MRSMCAWBER for all their help. :A

Good luck to everybody taking part... with rising prices it isn't always easy to cut back on grocery spending these days, so well done to all who managed it this month. :T

Well, even though I thought we wouldn't need anything else, I still managed to spend £19.31 in Mr M's yesterday, and I've just checked my receipt and found they've charged me full price for the lager/cider (which isn't included in our grocery budget) that we bought on the 2 for £14 offer:mad:! I am so annoyed as usually I always check that the offers have been taken off before I leave the store, but yesterday we were in a hurry and I was tired so didn't bother, I'm going back tomorrow to see if I can get the balance refunded as it's £7 difference and we wouldn't have bought it in the first place if it wasn't on offer.

  • Thankyou everyone for all your kind words, it really does mean a lot.

I have deffinetly gone over again this month with everything...why do i always forget the large number of birthdays end of the month that require baking bday cakes, had to add another £17.64 on a mr t shop for baking supplies and essentials but as ive seen somewhere.... when life gets u down bake cakes.

Going to sit down and see what i can realistically budget for this next month before posting my target on Junes thread.

  • Hi all, Ive not been online much lately as have been running hubby to and from hospital a lot for tests and more tests! I therefore must add up my receipts. Ive not been spending in quite the usual way as have had lots of petrol and car parking but the grocery shopping is still pretty normal.
I got a free pasta machine day before yesterday on Freecycle(I did have one years ago and didnt get the hang of it)
Between me and dd we sussed it out and made homemade spaghetti and pesto for tonights tea. Ive made another batch of pasta dough to do a lasagne for tomorrow. However, I do have approx 12 bags of the shop stuff(smartprice)in the cupboards! In future I will only use the dried stuff in "emergencies" and make fresh instead. It will save cupboard space too-the only thing is I will need to make sure I don't run out of eggs. Last month I experimented with making yoghurt in a vacuum flask and that also was excellent.
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults
