MrsMc Can I go for £200 again. For the first time it will actually be for a complete month so will see how I do. Freezer is full so that will help.

Will declare for May on Tues. Although shouldn't need to buy in any more.

By the way, I have to thank someone but can't remember who! Someone has in their signature the words 'every pound's a prisoner'. For some reason this caught my eye and made me think and I am now trying a new system where every time I get a pound coin I am not allowed to spend it - it goes straight in a little pot for savings which I thought I might use for little treats that I wouldn't normally be able to afford or for emergencies. I now find myself wanting to get £1 coins in change! So thank you to whoever has that in their siggie!

I like that idea! I'm away to round up the usual suspects and imprison them in a jar LOL.

Mmmm strawberries, I could do with those right now!

I'm so happy to have discovered this thread. I am really stressed about money - thinking about it seems to take about most of my time right now - but I might just manage to make it with you lot to advise and inspire! I'm just so angry with myself - this time last year I had a well-paying job. Then my mum got really ill and various other personal things happened which really knocked me and I was battling to handle stuff, so I changed my job to part-time without really thinking through the consequences. I later discovered that being pt meant that my company could decrease my hours by 25% so now I am about to be on half of what I used to earn and I really don't know how I am going to get through. To think that I put myself in this position by my own choice....I just can't forgive myself for being so stupid!

    Morning gang

i`ve not tallied up all my receipts yet but i`m definitely going to be over :o

I had lots of coupons that were at risk of going out of date and didn`t want to waste them so i went shopping when i didn`t need to.

It will be a saving overall so i`m not concerned.

Another thing that i need to do is look at my dates as i`m not sure whether or not my June challenge should have started or not  hope so really or i`m well over :rotfl: I also need to work out Junes budget as this needs to include some nights out with friends which would have come out of the entertainment budget but as we wern`t using it and i had too many budgets i scrapped that one and lumped everything into the GC :D

Never mind - i know what i`m doing even if no one else does and at the end of the day if it saves money then it can only be good :D

All my receipts are spread around the house so i shall go and collect them all together now and work everything out later.

    Have good days peeps.

    SD
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

I haven't posted much on this thread but I have been keeping up with this months grocery challenge and have spent a total of £280.26,this is my final figure for May, not too bad considering it was my first month. I would like to stick with £250 again for the June challenge.
