Well after totally losing track the last couple of months and having a few massive bills
we really really need to save some money, so its back to being more organised.
So please could I be put down for £300 in June
this is for two adults, two children (age 4 and 6) two cats, four guinea pigs, two rabbits and an assortment of fishreally not sure I'll be able to do it
but am going to give it my best shot
Off to write my meal plan for the next week as I'll do what will count as my first June shop tomorrow

Just back from Mr T armed with a £2.30 pricecheck coupon and a £6 off £40 voucher.
I had to stock up a bit on a few things like cereal and toiletries and a few bits for visitors later on in the week and after the vouchers were taken off I managed to come at £44.28. My budget is £45 so I'm quite pleased with that considering what I bought.
I have plenty in for the week and may only have to get some extra milk for the visitors.
I'd like to carry on at £45 a week for June please!0 -
I declare at £55 for the month.
It could be a few pennies as well but I take all my change out and save towards the mortgage pot.
So I now have £45 to go towards my mortgage :j
I will say £100 for next month again. And see how it goes.
Yours

I'm declaring a spend of £226.31 for May, over the budget but hope I'll be forgiven for this!
I've been making extra meals to help DS and family as they have a new baby - Benjamin arrived on 20 May, weighing in at 10 lbs. His sister thinks he's wonderful, now. DIL is doing well and recuperating after a(nother) c-section.
Please add me to the June GC list for £250 as the freezer's almost empty and I'll be stocking up on meat/fish bargains.#Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain #We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us #If you focus on what you have left behind, you will never see what lies ahead - Gusteau/RatatouilleGC 2022: £0/£2,500 total spend0 -
Silverbird - aarh, congratulations Silverbird on your new grandchild. I already think about grandkids & my own two are only 11 & 9 so got quite a few years to go yet! Bet your DS & DIL appreciate you being so helpful.

I'm over again, but I did just get a load of bargains and bulk buys in advance of next month.
By the way, I don't know if it helps anyone but Superdrug are doing a special now - 4 items for £2.99. The items included shower gel, deodrant, hand wash and various other bits and bobs. I think you might have to spend over £5 to qualify but am not sure. They are also promoting their loyalty card and offering extra points for various things so it's worth a look if you need stuff from there anyway.0 -
By the way, I have to thank someone but can't remember who! Someone has in their signature the words 'every pound's a prisoner'. For some reason this caught my eye and made me think and I am now trying a new system where every time I get a pound coin I am not allowed to spend it - it goes straight in a little pot for savings which I thought I might use for little treats that I wouldn't normally be able to afford or for emergencies. I now find myself wanting to get £1 coins in change! So thank you to whoever has that in their siggie!0

Hi All,
Really quite pleased with myself this month, even though I am over where I should be for my annual target, I have narrowed the gap this month. I think if I'm truthful the main reason for this is that work is so busy, that I just haven't the time or inclination to have a wander around the shops inbetween appointments, so that helped a lot. My menu plan lasts for another fortnight, and I have everything in I need except for potatoes, so no potato based meals until the 1st, when I can start another month, hoping not to spend anymore this month now.
I think I will try £145 for June, and try to to get back on track for the annual target.

destroyerofdebt: i am sorry for your loss. Don't be hard on yourself. My whole life went out of whack when my darling Dad died 3 months ago...keeping an eye on my spending has been the last thing on my mind, and i'm sure it doesn't register in comparison to the grief you are experiencing.
Oky doke, DD asked me to make more brown lentil gloop...well it's kind of a thick soup! So i made that yesterday and we had it for tea and then we had the leftovers today for a late lunch. Shortly I'll be doing us baked potatoes with grated cheese. Had a NSD yesterday and today was a spend day, but not on food, so that's good.
Please can i be put down for £80 for the GC in June. Many thanks hunnies.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
