Those pork chops sound good 69chick. I've never tried cooking pork chops in the oven - normally just fry or grill. Is the recipe one that is one here?

Declaring at £257, which is a bit up on the £200 intended. I think there has been too much 'popping to the shops' while I was not working, Back at work now so no opportunity to spend much (though the office has 5:eek: sweetie/biscuit charity boxes - managed to not use them yet though) There is a lot of going to sarnie shops/kfc in my new office so I have to make sure I have plenty of pack up to keep me going.

MrsMc please could you put me down for £200 for June.
  • Haven't done the challenge for a very long time, but please can you put me down in JUNE for £160 and we'll see how we get on.

    Many thanks:A

Hello eveyone - can I rejoin the challenge pls - I have dipped in and out of this challenge a few times over the last year or so and thought that it had helped me get my food shopping under control - therefore imagine my horror when i worked out that for April and May I have been spending on average £235 PER WEEK :eek::eek::eek::eek: and thats not counting all the trips to the local shop for milk/bread etc - and i wonder why I cant make any overpayments to my cc's!!!!!!
So for June I am going to set myself a target of £400 which should be achievable - this is my biggest area of overspending and I know if I can get this right its will help sort out our finances in general!
    CC debt Aug 2018 £50.2K

I have updated my food spreadsheet today and the current total is £561.74 which is an overspend (at the moment) of £189.74.

There are still 2 days left in the month so I won't declare just yet.

As I mentioned previously, my total includes some purchases that are not grocery related and I will, once the month has finished, see if I can identify these and remove them so I can how the spending total differs. Its the first month I have kept up with keeping tally and I am shocked at the total, I dread to think how much has been spent in the months when I have just binned the receipts....

I can't afford to keep spending at this level and will work hard to reduce my spending total next month. There are some things I know I won't need, cat food for example, and I stocked up in wilkin$ons earlier in the month on washing powder and i have a large stock of hand soap and toiletries generally. Will need loo roll but that won't break the bank. Have a mountain of chocolate - so none of that this month and as following slimming world plan - want to cut down on alcohol consumption so will try to be good with that too. Must must must meal plan and use up fruit I have in my fridge rather than buy expensive punnets of blueberries and strawberries - I still have two 40 pence melons in my fridge that I need to use up.... so bank holiday tomorrow, after my lay in (was up at 5am this morning ) will try to meal plan based on what I have in my various cupboards (and my freezer) and see if I can do much better next month:D
