Hi everyone, not been around much this month, it has been so busy at work.... I have gone from having 40 workers at the end of April to 354 up until today!:eek: Been quite tired and only just getting the essentials done :o:o

Anyway, budget is looking quite good, just added it all up and I want to declare £285.97 for May :T:T as won't get chance to get to any SM before June :rotfl::rotfl:

I'm off to pop onto the shiny new thread and post June's budget :D

  • Just spent the last hour turning out my main food cupboard and making an inventory. I wonder if I can train people to cross off what they use?
I wont bother listing whats in the other cupboards as its mainly baking ingreients and dried pulses etc so Ive just cleaned out the cupboard and put it all back. Another 2 cupboards to do though.
Rolled out another lot of pasta which Id made last night and popped in the fridge. Going to let it dry out a bit and make a couple of lasagnes with it. If I used it just made I know it would turn to mush so thats a job for this evening.
I must add up my receipts and I must call the tax office tomorrow as they are sending me nonsense letters contradictiong each other on child tax credit. Also have to renew child benefit as dd doing another year at college. I will almost be glad when I can't claim it as its always such a fuss! So for anyone who has not done the above-do it now! It seems that they are withdrawing claims rather than continuing them so check your bank statement-I had to reclaim some last month as I hadnt realised I hadnt been paid due to not having paper statements any more and online facility not working(the downside)
Back to the washing now so its alll tidy for hubbys expected return tomorrow!

I am declaring a horrendous £550 for May - mainly due to bulk buying of tea, coffee, dishwasher tablets and laundry gel whilst on offer for when I am off on maternity leave after August - better to buy it now while I have proper pay and not maternity pay.

I have pak choi, lettuce, radish and strawberries ready in the garden - that will save me a bit but going to put in for £400 instead of £300 for June to be more realistinc

Argggh just done a long post and lost it.
Lets see if can remember most of it -

Have not been on here as much this month but have been busy - spending money. A total of £ 86.15 since last update :(

Can I declare May at £272.57- thats a huge £32-57 over
Annually am still doing ok though - phew.

So for June can I try for £240 again and am hoping it will be less as will try to use stuff up (I know I know said it before a few times but you never know June may be the month I manage it - there again....):rotfl:
DH and I are both doing SW and have been buying a lot more fruit, veg, crispbreads and yogurts although less cheese, bread and butter - swings and roundabouts. We are also both drinking a litre of soda water with lime in every day but when next go shopping will try a bottle of sparkling water and see if that tastes similar, should do and it's cheaper.
Hope everyone has a good June and well done to those who have come in on target or under, to those like myself who are over - never mind but pay attention next time and we must try harder. :rotfl:

Thankyou to everyone who keeps these boards running smoothly and set us up for another month. xxx

    Declaring at £92.21/£85 for May:o:o:o:o
I would have come in just under but had to go to shop for milk etc this morning and got ambushed by a bottle of 'fermented grape juice'.

Actually I've just looked back at receipts for the month and spotted some other 'treats'
  • hello everyone,

I've been reading the challenges threads and I'd like to jump right in and set my first goal as £200 for June . I'm hoping that my heaving cupboards and freezer will make this not too much of a shock to our bad habits!

Thanks for including me and for all the recipe inspiration!

Popping on after a weekend away to declare a total of £123.79 for May - very chuffed! Although I mainly did that by missing a week of shopping, the freezer is still stuffed to bursting.
In June I am away for a weekend and separately for a week, and my other half is also away for a week when I'll be home - but I have friends staying several times too. So the budget is a real guess, but please put me down for £110 for June.

Went back to Mr M's today to get a refund on the amount I was overcharged, and was told the items I'd bought were not both in the offer. I insisted that they were both advertised as being in the offer, and they were both stacked in with the ones on offer, (I always check and double check these things) so she checked with the department manager, who also said they weren't both included and one had been put there by mistake, by staff who were covering for him when he was off last week (don't know how that accounts for them both being on the huge banner advertising the offer), but he honoured the offer it as it was a staff error, so I got the £7 back.

I bought some milk and cereal bars while I was there so another £3.46 to add, will declare tomorrow in case I do spend anything although I don't intend to do so.

  • Billie-jo i sometimes place a fruit teabag into a bottle of tap water left in the fridge overnight, tastes similar to some of the expensive flavoured waters otherwise a slice of lemon or lime placed in the same way would also give a similar effect much cheaper than the branded varieties.

Just declaring a spend today of £12.54 in Mr Ms ironically only really wanted milk, buttermilk and squash but also picked up other storecupboard items. Was quite impressed found value nappy sacks 100 for 9p and they make perfect dog pooh bags. No excuse for irresponsible dog owners at that price.
