Loved this! My mums a doll but my mates mum is a negative nightmare. My mate is climbing Kilimanjaro in July for charity and when she told her mum she said, wait for it 'A lot of folk fail at that'. My mate has said that even if she needs carrying down on a stretcher, she'll be finishing the trek! She also comes out with gems like 'Oh so your floors not real wood' and 'Those jeans would be nice on a thinner girl!'
Souk! You know me? That's the sort of thing my Mum says to me... that wouldn't be on one of those days when she's telling me that I look a bit scrawny. I'm told that my hair and skin are a mess too, but if anyone else dares to criticise me she's on them like a ton of bricks.

    Mothers eh?
    Whatever

Am I one of the only people who adores their mum to bits? She is one of my best friends, probably helped by when I had my breakdown, she and my dad were always there for me and I know things about her only her, me and my dad know.....Possibly favouritism but she and my dad were happy when I wanted to move back (next Weds...eeeek) although she is a bit mad but I'm used ot that, it's where I get it from.

Now to get the bloody woman to shop shopping in old ladies shops and buy some pretty things for the summer

Absolutely love mine to bits, still drives me bonkers though and we have a very open policy of freely telling each other when we're annoying each other (it works well believe it or not, there's alot of comfort in knowing she'll tell me how things are rather than what she thinks I want to hear)

As for the clothing bit I had to approach that with mine in the "look I know you're not used to buying things for you because you've always put us first..." way as she was so very used to prioritising everyone but herself. I clothes shop with her now and point out what are reasonable prices for an item (what is a normal supermarket price, what is normal high street price, what is normal for high end high street and so on.) as she is very out of touch with it and panics about overspending or being ripped off on items.
