I've been on a site with this too and sfter you've rated someone you cant rate that person again until you've given ratings to x number of others [10 I think]

which is also stupid because if you visit the site and rate someone the next time you visit you may see an excellent post by the same person but can't rate it until you've rated 10 other people, so what do you do? rate 10 other people quickly or not rate the good post at all

Does anyone have any better suggestions for rating posts? Would it make any difference to anyone if their post or anothers post was rated? Wouldn't you still read it and form your own opinion anyway.

There was a post on another thread re Ebay neg feedback reprecussions. Following the OP complaint I read the Ebayer feedback. Although it had a high positive, the tone and wording of some of the positive and negative made me think otherwise. Others agreed but the OP obviously did not. This I feel highlights how differently we react to postings.

Good point. Just 'cos one person rates a message highly. That's just their opinion. Everyone else may disagree.

So is admin the only people who sees the information gathered by way of the little green box......if so, what's the point....personally I am disgusted with the idea.

elvis? You'll have to ask admin how it works :D

We all have our own IP address thing, (but it get's confusing on AOL I think), so if you were to be banned for instance, and logged in under a different name, admin usually know.

As for the little green box, I've no idea to be honest.

I'm just trying to remember how it works on different forums (fora?), but it works.

monitering IP address means that if you create a new user and then he / she agrees with all your posts, admin can see you have the same IP and know you're talking to yourself !!

Which I've seen happen (but not from an admin's side) and it's so funny :D

elvis? It's a bit awkward if you share a computer with someone and they decide to be abusive or whatever, because it's one IP. Unless you use two computers, (which also happens), because then it's another new ball game.

    Ask admin lol.

I don't like it. (in the style of Little Britain)

It'll just end up with an 'in' crowd of 'those with more ratings', just like in the school playground.

I'm going to leave negative remarks about someone. Not because I want to, it's just a test ok? And they know I'm doing it
