Just a bit of advice (not that I think you'll take it reading this thread) Deep in this listing by putting it appears to be silver plated you're opening yourself up to a world of trouble. Items have to either be Hallmarked if not they are Silver coloured metal

I think that you will find Oliver that de minimus applies in this instance.
Elfin, anyone can report any eBay item without purchasing it. That is how eBay polices itself. You just click the "report" button and follow the trail. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
We only have your word that the items are not safe, personally I would not feel comfortable reporting an item without hard evidence.
I'm not saying you are not telling the truth it's a more general issue about the way this forum operates. If we started doing this it would be easy for anyone to come and make claims, including sneaky competitors.0 -

Just like some one could report yours of course, I'm not quite sure where you are going with the de minimus defence.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Soolin, as I have said, anyone can report anyone for anything on eBay; excessive postage charges, selling fakes, unfaiir T&C. Traders regularly report each other to try to remove their competition.
Ebay is a minefield for the unwary, I read somewhere that 90% of the items marked "Tiffany" on eBay are fakes, I was once sold a fake memory card. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Items with non-uk plugs must be supplied with a conversion plug.
A shaver adaptor will not suffice.
Then why do the shavers come with a two pin plug?
There are plenty of two pin plug items on the market, and you are saying they are all illegal. You must be in error.
i.e. Phillips razor bought Christmas from Amazon, with adaptor for 220V (USED to be 240V) and requires NO tools to fit or remove it.0 -
I am not asking for sympathy, I am seeking to prevent a child being killed as a result of eBay's cavalier attitude towards safety, and to ensure that eBay traders do not seek to diminish consumers' statutory rights.
I disagree that Terra's point was "extremely valid", it was unsolicited and unwelcome. I have used my own name on the internet for over 12 years, beginning with usenet, a minefield for the unwary. I have never had any trouble.
I read this as saying:-
It's not MY fault I made a silly purchase, it's ebay's for letting them sell it to me!
It's not MY fault I made a silly purchase, it's the trader for selling me junk!
It's not MY fault etc etc etc.0 -
I do not understand, why should I show anything to the seller. Why should I need to provide a letter? I am not asking him for either a refund or a replacement. Please explain because at the moment the reason for this line of questionning escapes me.
Yes, I do tend to be a bit narky, especially when I suspect that people are not reading the posts before asking questions.
Now I'm really confused!
With all that you say is wrong with them, you will accept a replacement?0 -
For plugs on shavers, toothbrushes etc., read Schedule 1:5
