I do not understand, why should I show anything to the seller. Why should I need to provide a letter? I am not asking him for either a refund or a replacement. Please explain because at the moment the reason for this line of questionning escapes me.

Yes, I do tend to be a bit narky, especially when I suspect that people are not reading the posts before asking questions.

I think you forgot to add to your OP that only posts that have been pre-approved by yourself are allowed....
This is a forum not a noticeboard, you can't open a new thread and not expect people to respond. If your aim was to 'name and shame' and tell everybody who responds to shut up, it's not really working is it? :D

Responding is one thing, making suggestions that I take a course of action which I have already stated that I have taken is another.

As for people "trying to help", surely they can see that I have already done everything that needs to be done, have familiarised myself with the applicable legislation. and am fully fully cognizant with my statutory rights.

My aim was to bring to the attention of board members the fact that there are traders on eBay who are prepared to drive a coach and horses though the Law, and peoples' statutory rights, and eBay is prepared to abet them in this task, (these speakers are still being offered for sale}. I am satisfied that I have achieved that.

You would be better occupied writing to eBay to protest rather than picking an argument with me. The ground under your feet looks decidedly unstable.

For someone who does not like to be told what to do, you seem to rather enjoy doing it to other people...

Edited that for you, the rest of the sentence was entirely superfluous :D

The biggest problems with these forums is that people are free to post.

The biggest advantage of these forums is that people are free to post.

I have to say Well Done to The deep for highlighting what is without doubt an infringement of UK law.

You've done good by doing that, don't lose respect by becoming sciolistic about it, especially entertaining petty arguments.

TD, I would have thought that by letting the seller know and leaving appropriate feedback would highlight this to other buyers from this person and allow the seller to find time to use a different supplier.

You would have thought so elfin, but obviously not, the seller still has twelve for sale. Perhaps he does not care if anyone is injured.

You could report him, as could others here.
