Unsafe Electrical Items being sold on Ebay

Did you miss the part that says it comes with an adapter.
No.
But what sort of adaptor was it?
Was it one that you simply plug the 2 pin connector into, or was it one that you open up, put the 2 pin plug into, and then close and do up a screw to keep it closed (and which was itself, approved for use and sale in the UK)?
Simply coming with an adaptor isn't the only requirement.
It must be the correct type of adaptor and this adaptor must be fitted by the seller (and not simply supplied by them)0 -
It was a flimsy adaptor and the TSO thought that it was dangerous. The seller had received a previous complaint about it on his feedback.
It was certainly nothing like that which bris describes. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

Thank you very much for that Terra, I have corrected your post for you.
Although it is absolutely none of my business, in my opinion it is not very wise to give out one's eBay ID on this or other forum, it is alleged (that) other people have had problems with people who did not like what they were saying.
Also the seller may be unhappy about what you are saying very publicly about him and take some action.
You have missed the point, I want him to take action, stop selling potentially dangerous goods. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

This requirement is covered by the "The Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994" (section 12)
The difference is that Apples products will be tested and are safe. Someone selling cheap imported electrical goods from China is probably selling dangeroous illegal equipment with fake CE markings.0 -

You are fast losing the sympathy vote here.
Being rude to a poster that is making an extremely valid point is counter productive, by all means plaster your id all over the internet, it is not anecdotal that this can have repercussions several of us on here have had issues, myself included.
Fine if you believe you know better, but don't get rude about it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I am not asking for sympathy, I am seeking to prevent a child being killed as a result of eBay's cavalier attitude towards safety, and to ensure that eBay traders do not seek to diminish consumers' statutory rights.
I disagree that Terra's point was "extremely valid", it was unsolicited and unwelcome. I have used my own name on the internet for over 12 years, beginning with usenet, a minefield for the unwary. I have never had any trouble. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
The Deep
At the minute it is an allegedly "unsafe" product. It is unsafe only in your opinion. That opinion is important, but I am afraid for companies and authorities to take action it comes behind people like chartered electrical engineers and other experts. Trading Standards will have such experts availbale to them so if they say that it is unsafe action can and will be taken.
Best wishes
