Loosing weight isn't difficult in theory (we all know you eat less and exercise more) but it is much harder to put into practice. I try not to allow myself to be an emotional eater but sometimes you just can't help it.

My lunch was alright, considering fajitas for dinner. yummy

I've been doing quite well not being an emotional eater but less well not being a social eater. I can be very good all through the week and then the weekends that my OH is home (every other weekend) end up feeling almost like 'special occasions'. I'm fine on the weekends that he's away, I just carry on eating like I do during the week, but the weekends that he's home are much harder.

So this weekend on Saturday I had a bacon and salad sandwich for brunch...some fruit as a snack...and then pizza and cider for dinner :( the pizza was a personal size (4 slices) and I'm allergic to dairy so my pizza has no cheese, and no meat just onion and mushroom, so it could have been worse - but it was still pizza! Then Sunday was even worse with croissants for breakfast, roast pork for lunch and dairy free 'cheese' on toast for tea. Oh, and a couple of glasses of wine!

I am noticing myself - and my OH is noticing as well - making little changes like, if he eats some chocolate in the evening I'd normally join him, but I have been saying no. Or cutting way back on wine. Drinking herbal teas more often than milky tea or hot chocolate. I haven't baked or cooked dessert in AGES (a big thing for me!).

I know in theory I just have to keep up those little changes, decrease my portion sizes drastically and exercise much more regularly and the weight will come off. So why is it so hard?!

I love baking and can't resist but do it less often than I used to and normally only if we have guests or something now.

It is really hard to be good though and there is always temptation but this is always going to be true so just have to get used to it I guess. haha.

baking is a nightmare, I love cooking and baking, but baking has now become special occassion only.

Made fruit and nut flapjack yesterday as my brothers were over for lunch so we had that instead of pudding.

My h2b will eat all the flapjack that is left over the next few days while i'm at work.

    Hi all,

    Congrats on all your losses!

It's been a few weeks since I checked in I think. Am so pleased as the 2lb this week takes my total to 15lb since I started MFP 7 weeks ago. :)
Woo hoo I've lost a stone :j Only thing is now I've lost that much MFP has reduced my calories  and I'm finding it a little harder to stick to them now. I've still got 3 stones more to go though...

I second the advice to walk, it's low impact and the best all round excerise there is apparently. I do 40mins on the days I'm struggling to stick to my cals, enough to give me a couple of hundred extra to play with.

Other than that I've been sticking religiously to recording my calories, measuring/weighing everything and if I go over I try and eat less the next day etc. As long as my average for the week is +/- 400 cals or so I'm happy, and it's worked so far! I think I'm used to fewer calories now though, the first week was sooo hard! I thought I was starving!! :rotfl:

I've started doing the muscle exercises on the Wii fit cause I read that dieting can cause you to loose muscle mass as well as fat and I don't want to be skinny and flabby!!!

Sorry for the essay I just wanted to cheer everyone on a bit, you can do it!!! We will be slim and toned brides!

  • I bought a model of 2kgs of fat - my objective was to lose this amount and having a look at it each day was a great incentivizer. Now each time I look at it I smile as I remember my achievement! A site called Anatomystuff.co.uk sells them. good luck!

    Morning All,

Hope everyone had a good (diet friendly evening).

the idea of buying some fat ??? Actually that would probably give me a kick. Perhaps the way forward.

Well I'll see my mum tomorrow for the 1st time in 6 weeks (she has been sunning herself in Mauritus), will see if she is impressed with my weight loss.

Most go and get some more fruit at lunch time - have 2 apples, a pear and a banana on my desk at the mo. God I have never eaten so much fruit and veg before now. :)

    Morning Hadley :)

Haha I don't think I fancy having a blob of fat on my desk! Hope your mum notices the difference. I spoke with MIL to be yesterday and she commented that you can see I have lost more weight from our pre-wedding shoot photos :)

Breakfast was porridge as always. Got carrot, cucumber, pepper and celery sticks for lunch, with an apple, banana, some orange fruit bites and a packet of twiglets. Yummy. That sounds like loads written down but it isn't really as most of it is fruit/veg. That is 7 of my 5 a day just at lunch haha.

Does anyone else get really annoyed when they meet people they haven't seen in ages and they don't even notice that you've lost weight?
