I need to start walking more but there just isn't anywhere to go*.
The shops in the village are only 0.5 miles away and the only things to do there are go to Tesco, takeaway shops, bakery, vets and estate agents. So food or places I don't need to go to.
To walk to shops like Boots or WH Smith or something is 4 miles away which is a bit too far.
My work is 12 miles away so too far as well.
Otherwise it is fields but I don't feel safe there unless I had my OH or a dog as it usually is just us or one other stranger walking their dog.
*Ok thats an excuse but to get me outside of the house in this cold, I want to walk somewhere not just wander0 -
yes especially in this weather, its horrible..
thats why gyms/pools etc are better but its to get in one at the mo for me.. :0( *sigh*. i hope this period passes quickly where i can get back to the gym, asap! having the dog would def help though right? i think in the cold that would be hard too

I'm lucky - we livenear the sea and whilst it is often windy it is also often drier. I love walking when I have a goal at the end - ie if it's for a purpose. I'm not so bothered about hill walking, despite growing up in the lake district!
I'm going to do yoga or pilates every morning now once I have dropped kids off. 30 minutes of that, breakfast and then a brisk 40-50 minute walk should do the trick I think. Pilates is brillinat - I have 4 kids, 3 born by section, so my stomach muscles are awful. When I used to go to classes i lost 5" from my waist.... So, although I've not regained all 5 I would like to loose some again!

I am at home with the kids. OH is self employed so we are often skint, but I wouldn't miss it for the world. I often do bits of work as I like a change of scene, but I missed out on my first two when they were little and there is no way I would do that again.
However, I have only just sorted out a fitness routine as my youngest started nursery for 3 hours a day in September. My house is a pigsty though...

its not easy being with kids though. i talk to mums all the time, and they are always tired just rushing around to pick and drop kids, and do stuff around them, plus cooking etc.. with my hubby, he is a great cook but he leaves such a mess behind, that i am forever cleaning after him (he doesnt do it well) so i get tired and grumpy just doing that. my mums so funny. shes obssessed with cleaniless. she suggested i wake up earlier at the weekend to do house work and i said no way, as thats the only two days we get to catch up on sleep! heheBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!
