Hadley it depends as my friend used to burn faster than me during those SW meetings and i didnt like that! haha.. i think you can but it could depend on how fast u can burn etc.. i am such a slow burner. for me even 1lb, used to make me soo happy.

Thanks Rups. I must admit I normally do a 1lb - 1.5lb a week. But thats by not following it properly. So am quite pleased with that. I guess I really need to following it 100% to see how much I would shift.

    Thanks Rups. :)

I find it easy to be good - if I have a meal to eat, but very hard in terms of a quick snack or nibbles. and ok if I plan ahead - not that easy with 2 step kids to be who exist on crap (i.e. chips, chicken nuggets) and OH who thinks food should be meat, pot and 2 veg. Excuses, excuses - I know.

If I don't step it up a gear, I know I won't reach my target of back to 8ish stone by the wedding. I have roughly 8 months (till July dress fitting) to lose about 3-3.5 stone. Not sure I'll make it if I just keep plodding along at 1 - 1.5lbs a week. :(

you can do it.. i know what you mean though. me and hubby always eat pasta with something or the other, or spaghetti.. we have so many carbs.. he likes meat every day and when i lived with my mum, i ate meat rarely and was healthier! my mumis a vegeterian so we had things like lentils one day, or chick peas, or kidney beans.. etc etc. i had more variety but now all i seem to do eat is carbs. i could easily make my own stuff but since its there i will eat it too! grrr think thats the main problem too. we def need a few carbs everyday but the way we eat is weird. we got a big George Foreman grill as a wedding gift so we need to learn how to use it.. also if i get into a habit of soups, then that way i am having m ore veggies.

Thanks Rups. I have to believe that I can.. otherwise I think I'll just go whats the point and give up totally. he he.:rotfl:

As you say its easier jus to go with the easy option sometime (I love pasta - yum yum). I think you are right though - I think we need to mix protein, carbs etc. Not sure OH would agree with me.

I have done a quick calculation and if I was to lose 1.5lbs every week till my dress fitting I'd be about 8 stone . :) But don't think thats going to happen :(

try and do your best and like you said dont give up! i was soo determined before the big day.. i look back now and think how did i do it then, ie go gym so much and be energetic.. i need to be back there..and eat well. tonight have bought myself a chorizo/chicken and mayo sandwich for hubbys gig. will have a diet coke or orange juice with it and then fruit on the way home. boring! lol

    Thanks again Rups.

You dinner tonight sounds good..if I was going I would have something bad and a glass of wine or two. So well done you.:T

You were so good in terms of gym and diet before - so you know you can do it!! No problem :)

I can only do my best - to be honest I think I might have to give myself some flexibilty up till crimbo, then be much harder on myself in the New Year. :o. A good kick is all I need. :rotfl:
  • grrr.... dratted H2B keeps bringing naughty foods home even though he said he wouldn't! There is a box of chocolate mints in the cupboard, to which, following a valiant(ish) struggle, I finally succumbed this afternoon. I know, I know, I have only myself to blame, no-one forced me, but knowing stuff like that is there does not help my willpower!! Only had one though, as opposed to the four I'd have had before I started trying to be healthier, but still, a fail's a fail!

    Right then, today's food:
    b: 2 satsumas
l: baked potato with a little cheese
    s: chocolate mint
d: homemade gammon curry cooked with natural yogurt, with lots of veg, and brown rice (had a massive gammon joint on Sunday; still have leftovers!!)
Also had a beer this evening, to celebrate the arrival of my niece born yesterday! :j:beer::j

Hope everyone is well; Hadley, you're doing very well if you've lost nearly a stone, so keep going. :T

    Morning Everyone,

Ah congratulations on your new niece White. You had to have a toast to celebrate that.

Jo & Rups - hope you are both feeling better today.

Have just had some marmite on toast - yum yum and ok on SW. :)
